About me

Hello. My name is Rosalind Simpson. I am working face to face in Dalston Kingsland, Hackney, London and worldwide on Zoom. Are you feeling sad, stuck, stressed or struggling to adjust? I offer talking therapy to help resolve anxiety including GAD (generalised anxiety disorder), depression, panic, social anxiety, anger issues, relationship difficulties, bereavement and loss, trauma, sexual abuse and sexual problems. I offer a flexible approach tailored to your individual needs and goals. I offer individual and couple therapy and psychosexual (sex) therapy. This means that I am able to provide counselling for relationship issues such as arguing or cheating as well as for sexual problems like difficulties having sex or lack of desire.

Although my main modalities are Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),
I adopt an eclectic stance -tailoring my approach to what will support you as a client.

Your specific issues may include struggling with everyday problems, communication difficulties, divorce and separation, infidelity, OCD, PTSD, Phobias, Social Anxiety, Gender dysphoria, impaired or inhibited sexual arousal (SID Sexual Interest Disorder), erectile dysfunction, rapid ejaculation (previously called premature ejaculation), retarded ejaculation, Peyronie's disease, Orgasmic disorder, Vaginismus, Dyspareunia, Vestibulitis, Peri and post-menopausal difficulties, Pregnancy and birth trauma, fertility issues, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), Priapism, fetishisms, Sexual orientation confusion, Gender dysphoria, penis size issues, performance anxiety, sexual phobia, sexual addiction, porn addiction, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) survivors of abuse, chronic pain, long term health conditions such as auto-immune illnesses, cancer, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

As you can see my experience is wide and varied.

I have worked with clients from multi-cultural and diverse backgrounds and am accustomed to working with challenging issues in a calm and non-judgemental way, providing a safe space for clients to explore their issues and achieve their full potential.

I have experience working in NHS IAPT services, in CAMHS with adolescents and also provided supervision to therapists working in CAMHS. Issues included self-harming, eating disorders, low self esteem, bullying, depression, anxiety and Phobias. I have also worked in school settings at Place2Be.

I am an accredited supervisor and offer low-cost supervision for individuals and groups. I have a post-graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling so can work with any modality. I also offer supervision for Psychosexual (Sex) and Relationship Therapists and Supervision for Couple Therapists. I am happy to accept students and qualified therapists and supervisors.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

Getting Started
I accept self-referrals as well as referrals from other health professionals, solicitors and insurance companies. You can call me on 07948872907 initially. I offer a free 15-minute telephone or Zoom consultation. Following this, we would arrange a mutually convenient time to meet for an initial assessment on zoom or face to face. This normally takes 50 minutes and will give you a chance to decide if you would like to work with me.
If you decide to come to me for therapy we would normally meet once a week for 50 minutes at the same time and in the same place or on Zoom.

The therapy is open-ended and you decide when you want to finish but I ask that you agree to have a final session so that we can sum up the work we have done together and have a proper ending.
