About me

About You

Are you feeling overwhelmed by stressful circumstances, anxious, ‘stuck’ or perhaps confused about why you feel the way you do? Sometimes, it can be hard to talk to or feel understood, even by those closest to you, leaving you feeling lost and isolated.

Whatever is causing your unhappiness may be affecting your everyday life and relationships. Talking things through, with a professional counsellor, can make your problems feel like less of a lonely struggle and help you to see how you can live your life more fully, rather than just ‘going through the motions.’

What I can offer you?

I am a warm, open and grounded person. My aim is to offer you a welcoming, empathic and confidential environment, where you will feel comfortable sharing your thoughts, feelings and behaviours freely, without fearing judgement or expectation. It can be a real relief to feel that someone is there for you, to listen, to value you as an individual and to know that you are being heard.

I believe that change starts from within and we will work together, at your pace, to help you explore, untangle and understand your issues and to alleviate your distress. Having the space and time to reflect on your experiences will give you clarity on your situation and develop your self-awareness.

Gaining a stronger sense of yourself and fresh perspectives can increase your confidence and self-trust, enabling you, with my support, to grow and develop positive and lasting ways to feel more contented and fulfilled and to cope more effectively with the challenges that face you now and in the future.

Free Initial Consultation

I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation, which is an opportunity for us to understand how we can best work together and for you to ask me any questions that you may have.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
