About me, my practise & my experience

Hi, I'm Ron I opened my Centre; Independent Therapy Solutions on 1st August 2005 after working at RELATE, GP Surgeries and in the drug and alcohol field. I was a family group conference coordinator for the local health authority and for several year’s I taught the Diploma in Counselling, briefly at Chelmsford College and then at Life Force in Colchester I am an experienced clinical supervisor for therapists, students and have supervision regularly myself.

I became a counsellor because of life events and my own self-healing journey, that isn't as easy as it sounds, let's just say that I have been there, and got the t-shirt! It took my own counselling and much learning which has qualified me to be part of other people’s journeys. I have been member of the BACP for more than 25 years and adhere to their Code of Practise and maintain the required continuous professional development.

My expertise is people and life, and my quest is to support people in a confidential, non - judgemental, self- empowering way.

I am a compassionate professional that has helped many individuals and couples, from all walks of lives, each with their own story, I have a ‘tool bag’ of skills across many paradigms which enables an integrative and personalised therapeutic approach. Building a relationship based on collaboration and trust, exploring what has brought you to therapy and what comes into your sessions, it can sometimes be like peeling an onion and this process can be long or short, but you will be the centre of the sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

BTEC Diploma in Counselling

As you can imagine for how long I have been qualified I have many qualifications, professional development and have covered many paradigms.

My most recent training is with Carolyn Spring PODS, Reversing Adversity

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
