About me

Do you feel like you are constantly working twice as hard just to keep up?

Living with ADHD, Autism, and other neurodivergences in a world built for the neurotypical mind can be exhausting. You might feel like you are constantly masking to fit in, overwhelmed by daily tasks, or tired of being criticised for "not trying hard enough".

I understand this deeply. I was diagnosed with ADHD later in life myself. Since co-founding the Leeds ADHD Support Group in 2017, I have supported hundreds of people who feel exactly the way you do.

I offer a unique perspective that few therapists have: I speak your language. You won't have to waste time explaining how your brain works to me. You won't be with a therapist who sees you through a lens of outdated theory that didn't understand neurodivergent minds.

HOW I WORK

I work in a person-centred way. I am not here to analyse you or tell you what to do. Instead, I offer a work with you to create a safe space where you can unmask and untangle your thoughts at your own pace.

LOCATIONS

For face-to-face meetings I can work in locations convenient to you:

  • Leeds City Centre: Close to the train station and major bus routes for public transport users and those living and working in Leeds.
  • A variety of locations outside Leeds such as Batley Health Centre
  • Online using a secure video conferencing website

If you are ready to stop struggling alone, please book in for an introductory call, or email me to arrange a time to talk.

Training, qualifications & experience

ACCREDITATION

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP). This means I have met the rigorous standards for training, experience, and ethical practice required for their membership.

SPECIALIST EXPERIENCE (ADHD & NEURODIVERSITY)

My understanding of Neurodivergence comes from real-world application, not just textbooks.

In 2017, I founded the Leeds ADHD Support Group. Over the years, I have facilitated support group meetings for hundreds of individuals as well as offering one to one support where required. This has given me a huge amount of experience in how ADHD truly affect relationships, work, and self-esteem -insight that goes far beyond standard counselling training.

QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Person-Centred)

I am committed to regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to ensure I am up to date with the latest research in mental health and neurodivergence.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

FREE INTRODUCTORY CALL ( 20 MINS)

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Accessibility is dependent on where we meet for appointments. My Leeds Centre location is not wheelchair accessible as they do not have a lift. Batley Health Centre is accessible.
