About me

Hello, if you have found your way here, you are probably already considering counselling. Finding the right person to trust with your concerns is the next step.

I take that trust seriously and will meet you with kindness, compassion and empathy as you explore those aspects of life that can be difficult or distressing.

If you are experiencing the impact of life's difficulties such as anxiety, loss, or relationship issues, I would welcome the opportunity to help you find your way forward.

Please do call, email or message to book a session or alternatively I offer a free visit to meet me and have an informal talk about what you hope to gain from counselling.

I am happy to discuss a fee reduction if you are on a low income or looking for work.

Training, qualifications & experience

I spent many years in other roles working with children, families and adults in difficulty or crisis before training as a counsellor.

I have also spent time working in the corporate world with colleagues, clients and suppliers.

I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and I have experience volunteering as a counsellor at a mental health charity. I set up my private practice which has grown over the years and supports people facing a wide range of needs and concerns.  I see people face to face, online and occasionally for home visits.

I continue to grow and develop my practice by taking part in continuing professional development.

My approach is to provide a warm welcome and a relaxed environment in which clients can explore their concerns.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
