About me

I’m a BACP-accredited psychotherapist offering in-person and online therapy for adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, burnout, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief, emotional overwhelm, or a general sense of feeling stuck or disconnected.

Many of the people I work with are capable and outwardly managing life well, but inside feel very different; privately struggling with anxiety, self-criticism, exhaustion, emotional numbness, or caught in patterns in relationships that keep repeating. Others come to therapy feeling emotionally flat or numb, disconnected from themselves, stuck, or unable to fully understand or access what they feel.

You do not need to arrive with a clear goal or explanation for why you’re seeking therapy. Sometimes people begin because life feels increasingly difficult to manage, because coping strategies that once worked no longer feel enough, or because they are tired of carrying things alone in the way they always have.

My approach is integrative, relational, and trauma-informed. In practice, this means I work flexibly depending on your needs, exploring present difficulties and the underlying emotional patterns, past experiences, and nervous system responses that may be shaping how you think, feel, and relate to yourself and others.

Some people come to therapy feeling emotionally overwhelmed, anxious, or unable to switch off. Others feel emotionally shut down, distant, or disconnected. Often, it’s a mix of both at different times. Therapy offers space to begin understanding these patterns rather than just trying to push through them.

Therapy with me is collaborative, attentive, and engaged. I offer thoughtful observations, reflections, and gentle challenge when helpful, creating space to better understand yourself, your relationships, and the ways you have learned to cope. The aim is not to “fix” you, but to help you feel more emotionally connected, clearer about yourself, and able to respond to life and relationships in a more grounded and authentic way.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m a BACP-accredited psychotherapist, qualified to Master’s level (Level 7) in Integrative Psychotherapy. My training allows me to work flexibly and thoughtfully with a range of emotional difficulties, including anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, emotional overwhelm, and disconnection.

My professional experience includes work within community counselling and charity settings, alongside specialist trauma support, including within a police treatment centre supporting people affected by trauma, chronic stress, and high-pressure working environments. I have also volunteered with Samaritans, supporting people experiencing emotional distress and crisis.

Before training as a therapist, I completed a Master’s degree in Neuroscience. This continues to inform how I understand the relationship between past experiences, stress, the nervous system, and emotional wellbeing; particularly the ways people adapt to overwhelm, pressure, and difficult relational experiences over time.

I continue to engage in ongoing professional development to support and deepen my clinical practice.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
