About us

Please note I am on annual leave until the 3rd April and will respond to your query upon my return,

Resources for Autism is a registered charity that provides practical services for children and adults with a diagnosis of autism and for those who love and care for them.

Our £40 low-cost counselling service is offered to autistic individuals over 16 years old, whether formally diagnosed or not, and for parents/carers.

My name is Mathilde. No matter what is troubling you right now, I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space in which to talk about your difficulties or concerns. I will work with you to build up trust and rapport between us, so that you can feel comfortable in exploring what is painful for you.

Your counselling journey with me will be taken at your own pace, while I provide a supportive environment in which to explore your difficulties.

Helping you re-discover your identity and self-worth after an autism diagnosis- whether recent or long ago. Together we'll work towards empowerment, confidence, and moving forward in life with clarity and purpose.

I regularly check with my clients what they found useful or not, so we can work better together.

I also facilitate a face to face sharing group on Thursdays, in an intimate and supportive space for up to 6 like-minded individuals who wish to connect and learn from one another’s experiences, celebrate what’s good, and gain inspiration to change what’s not. Please inquire about Real Talk if you are interested.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked as a counsellor at RfA since 2020, offering individual sessions and facilitating groups, and have personal lived experience as I am autistic myself.

I have a BA (Hons) in Person-centred counselling, and am a registered member with the BACP.

I am very focused on continuing my development and regularly attend workshops and seminars on topics brought to me by my clients such as women's hormonal health, and fostering connection in difficult conversations.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

Starting therapy is a significant and personal step, and it’s important to find the right fit; get in touch with me to organise a free 15 minutes meeting to see if working together feels right. If we decide to proceed, we’ll arrange an initial session where we can explore in more detail your reasons for seeking therapy, what you hope to gain from the experience and where to go from there.
