MA Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist | MBACP |

About me

Life can become busy, overwhelming, or difficult to make sense of. Sometimes you know exactly what’s wrong. Other times, you just know that something doesn’t feel quite like you anymore.

I offer a calm, supportive space where you can slow down, talk openly, and explore whatever you’re carrying without feeling judged, pressured or expected to have all the answers. Therapy doesn’t have to start with a crisis. Sometimes it’s simply about making sense of your experiences, understanding yourself more deeply, or finding your way back to the person you feel you’ve lost along the way.

As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, I don’t believe there is a one-size-fits-all approach. Every person is different, so I tailor therapy to you, drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches to suit your individual needs. Together we can explore your thoughts, emotions, relationships and life experiences at a pace that feels right for you, helping you gain greater self-awareness, develop healthier ways of coping, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Many of the people I work with are trying to navigate anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, grief, or feeling stuck. Others come because they’ve spent so long meeting everyone else’s expectations that they’ve lost sight of who they are and what they need. Therapy can be a place to reconnect with your own identity, values and sense of self, so you can make choices that feel more authentic to you.

I work with young people aged 16+, young adults and adults, offering therapy in person in Skipton and online across the UK.

At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I believe meaningful change happens when you feel genuinely heard, accepted and understood. My role isn’t to tell you who you should be, but to walk alongside you as you make sense of your experiences and discover what feels right for you.

I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation, giving us the chance to talk about what has brought you to therapy, answer any questions you might have, and see whether working together feels like the right fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Master’s degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from Leeds Beckett University, alongside a Bachelor’s degree in Counselling and Mental Health. I also hold a CMI Level 5 qualification in Coaching and Mentoring.

My training enables me to work integratively, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches to tailor counselling to each individual. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, and I work collaboratively to find what feels most helpful for you.

Alongside my private practice, I have experience supporting young people and adults in a variety of settings, including working therapeutically with young people experiencing social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. This has given me experience supporting people with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, emotional regulation, identity, neurodiversity, life transitions and feeling stuck.

I am committed to working ethically and professionally, undertaking regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development (CPD) to ensure my practice remains safe, reflective and up to date.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

Starting counselling can feel like a big step, especially if it’s your first experience of therapy. My aim is to make the process feel as comfortable and straightforward as possible.

I currently offer online counselling for people aged 16 and over across the UK. Online therapy provides a flexible, confidential space where you can access support from the comfort of your own home, without the need to travel.

I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation, giving you the opportunity to ask any questions, tell me a little about what has brought you to therapy, and see whether working together feels like the right fit. There is no obligation to continue afterwards.

If you’re unsure whether counselling is right for you, or you’re worried that your difficulties aren’t “serious enough”, you’re very welcome to get in touch. You don’t need to have the right words or know exactly where to start we can work that out together.

Although I currently work exclusively online, I hope to offer face-to-face sessions in Skipton in the future as my practice grows.

If we decide to work together, we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. My hope is that therapy becomes a space where you feel able to be yourself, make sense of your experiences, and create meaningful, lasting change.
