About me
I offer a space where your child or young person can feel comfortable opening up and exploring whatever might be causing them difficulty in their life.
I am an HCPC-registered dramatherapist with over nine years' clinical experience working with young people aged 5-18. In addition to sitting and talking, I offer a range of age-appropriate creative techniques to help them express themselves and reflect.
Whether they are feeling anxious, depressed or low; struggling with confidence and self-esteem; experiencing difficulties at school or home; waiting for or having newly received a diagnosis of neurodiversity; or asking questions about themselves or their experiences, I can help.
In addition to my private practice, I have worked clinically within the NHS (in CAMHS and adult mental health services), for charities, and in various school settings. I am a non-judgemental and inclusive therapist.
Sessions might help them to recognise, challenge or change unhelpful thoughts or patterns; feel more grounded; step back from an issue and discover new perspectives; or develop their self-identity and self-esteem.
I offer one-to-one therapy sessions from hired therapy rooms in central Brighton (BN1) and online video sessions.
My current availability is Monday afternoon/evening, Friday afternoon/evening and various slots on Saturday.

[I also offer one-to-one dramatherapy to adults. Additionally, I offer supported play sessions for adults who struggle to play with or engage with their children.]
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an HCPC registered dramatherapist. I qualified in 2017, with a Masters in dramatherapy (with Merit) from Roehampton University and I have been practising since.
As a dramatherapist, I have worked with children and young people in schools (early years, primary, secondary, independent, sixth form/college and within specialist education), for charity groups and in the NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health service (CAMHS).
Prior to training as a dramatherapist, I have had significant experience of working with children and young people. I have worked within the education and charity sectors to increase the participation and engagement of children and young people. I have also worked with marginalised young people and those at risk of exclusion.
I am a Full Member of the British Association of Dramatherapists (BADth).
I have a Diploma (Merit) in Neuro-Dramatic Play, for work with children and adults.
I also have a First Class (Hons) BSc in Drama and Psychology from the University of the West of England, Bristol.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
