About me

I offer psychoanalytically informed psychodynamic therapy (BACP).

My role as therapist is to attend to the affective inner life of those seeking therapy and play a caring role in a liberation effort, both psychic and social. I am interested in offering a non-judgemental space to rehearse disalienation and accompany patients as they think and feel through their inner life.

I believe that cycles can be broken, by paying attention to repetitions, inhibitions, and symptoms. As such I have worked with patients experiencing acute PTSD, ADHD, ASD, eating disorders, BPD and bereavement both privately and within the NHS.

I believe a large part of our contemporary struggle is rooted in social conditions and am a racially sensitive, trans affirming, queer and feminist ally.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified with a MSc in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Counselling from Birkbeck University.

Alongside my private practice, I have worked within the NHS, for leftist organisation The Red Clinic and with refugee charities.

I am working towards BACP accreditation and uphold the highest ethical standards in my practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

Please enquire. In our first session we will discuss your circumstances and agree a price according to my scale. I offer a small number of lower cost places for those who would not otherwise be able to access therapy.

Cancellations are due in full, but we can always try to reschedule a missed session should something come up, with reasonable flexibility.

Further information

I offer consultations during which you can get a sense of whether we might be able to work together and we can think through what has brought you into therapy and what you hope it might give you.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and there is no set format for the sessions. The aim is to allow for free-associative thoughts so that we might allow for the unconscious to be heard.

Sessions are weekly at a fixed time. I offer both in person and online sessions.
