About me

Who do I support?

I'm an Integrative Psychotherapist and Coach.

I support people who overthink, over-give, and overdo, to experience a quieter mind, more connected relationships, and a calmer nervous system.

Those who look fine, but don't actually feel fine.

Outwardly they are functioning, capable, and doing well, but inside they regularly feel anxious, stressed, overwhelmed, disconnected, permanently "on" or quietly exhausted.

Not struggling enough to be noticed, but not exactly fine either.

I call this The Secret Struggle™

Does this sound familiar to you?

You don’t look like you’re struggling.

You're not in crisis.

Your emotional state doesn't feel fixed.

You show up, work hard, doing all of "the things".

You often tell yourself things aren't "that bad".

And because of that, you feel like you "should" be okay.

But at times everything just feels too much.

This often looks like:

  • Over-functioning, performing and achieving at work
  • Over-giving in your relationships
  • Perfectionism, people pleasing and searching for approval
  • Imposter syndrome, self-doubt and constant comparison
  • Feeling like you're not "enough" and at times feeling "too much"
  • Always on the go and unable to rest
  • Saying or doing the 'right' thing
  • Overthinking what has happened or what could happen
  • Filtering yourself and hiding how you really feel
  • Finding it uncomfortable to receive or ask for support, because you should be okay

These are the patterns that create an outer identity of achievement, success and competence... all whilst a quiet inner conflict starts to build that you can feel, but can't always name. Your inner world doesn't feel like it matches your outer world and trying to contain it all can feel relentless.

This is The Secret Struggle.

Here we acknowledge that your emotional state isn't fixed. You're not either "coping" or "in crisis". How you feel is something that shifts and changes depending on what you're navigating.

I'm here to help you remember how life felt beyond perfectionism, productivity and performance.

My Signature Approach:

Rewriting Your Reality™ - Recognise, Release, Realign

You don’t need “fixing” or changing. You don't need a new routine or simple strategy. You don't need to radically change who you are.

You need to really understand your inner world.

This enables you to Recognise your struggles with compassion, knowing why they exist; Release the the thoughts, feelings, limiting beliefs and self-protective patterns that are exhausting you and; Realign your choices, decisions and actions with who you really are.

Most high-functioning people with hidden struggles have built their inner world to cope, because they don't feel safe to be themselves.

You perform and protect, because feeling, expressing and simply being never felt safe.

You function, but rarely feel good or genuine contentment.

You push through, because showing up as you are hasn’t always felt possible.

This isn’t because something is wrong with you.

It’s because you learned who you needed to be in order to feel 'good enough'.

And this is where change can happen.

This is where Rewriting Your Reality™ begins.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
