About me
Hi, I’m Rebecca, it takes courage to start therapy, I offer a warm and accepting space where you can share your struggles without judgment.
Some clients come to my practice because they want help managing stress and anxiety, are suffering in silence with OCD, feel in constant battle with their neurodivergence, or have a complicated relationship with their family.
If you've tried to work through your issues but still feel stuck, therapy can help. In our sessions, I invite you to show up as you are and aim to create a space where you can feel safe sharing what you're living through. Sessions can support you to regulate difficult emotions, process painful experiences, and take steps to move forwards. Working together, my goal is for therapy to connect you more deeply with yourself and a life that feels, for you, more your own.
As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I take into account how you like to work and am able to draw from different therapy tools and approaches. I am committed to non-discriminatory and inclusive practice. I view my work as a therapist as a privilege and truly believe in the therapeutic relationship's ability to enable healing and growth.
If you have any questions, I’m happy to have a chat and offer a free and no obligation 15-minute intro call, after which we can arrange our first session. I welcome working on a short, medium, or long-term basis, and have worked with clients for a one-off check-in through to therapy that spans a number of years.
Training, qualifications & experience
In addition to an MA (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh, I hold a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, accredited by the University of the West of Scotland.
Throughout my career, I have been privileged to work in different mental health settings: acute inpatient care, charities (alcohol and drug use, carers), helplines (bereavement, students), prisons, probation, and the community, and a therapy centre (CBT).
I have delivered one-to-one and group therapy, and managed and supported services for adults across London and Scotland. In addition, I have received training in working sensitively with clients with neurodivergent ways of being and self-disclose as neurodivergent myself.
As a member of BACP, I adhere to their code of ethics and am dedicated to regular clinical supervision.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
