About me

‘Choosing therapy is a brave step towards better mental health…’

How Can Therapy Help You

Together, we will gain insight into what’s holding you back and explore the deeper meanings behind these obstacles. Reaching out for support is the first step on your path of rediscovery, giving you the space to regain your self-confidence, well-being, and self-esteem. Life can present us with numerous moments that challenge us:

The impact of grief can lead to intense feelings of sadness, anger, guilt, and confusion. You’re no longer responding to life as you expected, not knowing how to navigate your way through. Therapy helps you regain some logic and order when life feels turned upside down and impossible to move forward.

Many life transitions prompt a loss of identity and leave you questioning, ‘Who am I now…?’ Retirement, empty nester, menopause, and age milestones can all become opportunities to find a renewed sense of self and beyond.

Relationships, family estrangement, separation, and divorce can result in stress, anxiety, depression, and feeling grief-struck. Therapy allows you to explore these intense emotions and reoccurring patterns and behaviours in your relationships by empowering you and leading to healthier interactions and self-awareness.

Supporting your life with ADHD

Navigating life with ADHD can be challenging, and it’s completely natural to feel like no one truly understands what you're going through. You might struggle to make sense of your own thoughts and feelings, often masking your true self just to fit in. This can leave you feeling alone and depleted

ADHD can affect various aspects of your life. Everyday tasks, work commitments, and personal relationships may lead to feelings of burnout, procrastination, time blindness, anxiety, and fatigue. Managing your emotions and interactions often feels like an uphill battle.

With the right support and understanding, you can start to make sense of what ADHD means in your life. It's a journey of discovering new ways to navigate daily challenges while also uncovering the unique strengths that come with having ADHD. Embracing this journey can lead to a deeper sense of fulfilment and self-acceptance, helping you feel more empowered and understood.

Training, qualifications & experience

Why Work With Me?

Throughout my life, I've faced challenges and also felt stuck. Therapy has been a vital support, helping me reconnect with myself during these challenging times. It guided me through a midlife career shift, divorce, health scares, and a late ADHD diagnosis. I truly appreciate the invaluable support that helped me navigate these overwhelming experiences when I felt most lost. You're not alone in this—many of us are on similar journeys.

As a counsellor, I have supported local charities and collaborated with GP referrals.

As a long-term Cruse Bereavement counsellor, I am experienced in providing compassionate support both over the phone and face-to-face for those grappling with grief. My goal is to help you feel less alone as you work through the unpredictable stages of your grief.

At Age UK and The Royal Voluntary Service, I supported those who felt isolated and often lacked family support and helped those living with dementia.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
