MBACP Humanistic Integrative Counsellor

About me

Hello, and welcome, I am Becky a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor based in North Devon. I work with adults of all ages and with a variety of difficulties. Thank you for looking at my profile. I understand it may feel overwhelming taking the steps to find a therapist to help you. It is a brave step to take but you have recognised that difficulties may be leaving you feeling stuck, and unsure what to do,yet knowing you need help with the way you feel.

I will  offer you a safe, confidential space where you will feel welcomed and listened to with empathy and no judgement. My approach is  person centred ,  the integrative part means that I may draw from various therapeutic modalities and approaches to suit your individual needs.

My working experiences means I work holistically, mind and body balance is so important, or we may remain feeling stuck and overwhelmed. I offer in-person , online and telephone sessions. Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

I have over 30 years experience as a Registered General Nurse working with adults from 18 years old to over 100 years old.I worked in a variety of settings.I have always been naturally drawn to people, whatever their ethnicity, sexuality or background ,I am non-judgemental and accepting and believe that connecting with others is an enriching experience. The human spirit can be truly magnificent.

My experiences in Nursing and my personal life experience forged me towards counselling, recognising that at difficult times connection within a safe environment and with the right person can be healing and life changing.I believe that mind and body need to be balanced to enable us to flourish and move forwards ,to feel  listened to and understood. I can give space and be alongside you on your journey.

I work in a very Person-centred way ,whilst drawing from other modalities to suit individual needs.
