About me
It can be hard to see your child is struggling or when communication between you breaks down. It takes courage and trust to ask for help. Children and young people, like adults, can benefit from the focused, compassionate attention of a qualified counsellor, who can help them sort through their thoughts and feelings, find a way to move forward in their lives and endeavours and towards better and more fulfilling relationships.
I aim to offer a warm, genuine and supportive therapeutic relationship. My approach is integrative, which means I am able to be flexible in our work to suit your therapeutic needs, communication style and preferences. This may take many forms - in my work with children, this may look like play or art making as well as talking; with young people, it may involve guidance, developing coping strategies or a deeper exploration of identity. We all have inner strength, resources and creativity – it is my aim to support your child in finding theirs.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold Postgraduate qualifications in integrative counselling and psychotherapy for children and young people (ages 5-18) and in applying psychoanalytic ideas to the emotional care of babies, children, young people and families. For the past few years, I have provided therapeutic support to children and young people in both primary and secondary school settings, which has allowed me to develop a working knowledge of the difficulties children and young people face in their lives, whether at school or outside of it.
As an integrative counsellor, my approach combines perspectives from a range of theoretical disciplines: psychodynamic, attachment-based, person-centred, solution-focused, systemic and play- and art-therapy-based. What this means for you is that you have more flexibility and choice in how we work together.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative and client-led, which means I do frequent check-ins to make sure the counselling work is of value and benefit to your child. It can also mean collaborating with parents and carers at review times, offering guidance and support to ensure continuity of therapeutic progress.
I offer a free 20 min initial online/phone consultation for us to have an opportunity to talk about your needs and expectations and see if we can work together.
If you think I may be of help to you, please contact me to arrange a free initial consultation. I look forward to hearing from you!

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
