About me
Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. My name is Rachel and I am a fully qualified therapist, I work in both person-centred therapy, also known as talking therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy.
I am also a qualified Imago couples therapist. (see below for further details)
Life can often become difficult, you may be struggling with feeling overwhelmed, anxious, sad or angry. This could be something long lasting from early experiences, or due to recent major life events. In my practice I work with individuals and couples to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your feelings, your behaviours and your circumstances.
I have worked with clients from different backgrounds and with many different presenting issues, and each person is truly unique in their experiences. I am passionate about supporting people in finding themselves and getting to a place where you can achieve your therapy goals.
I offer open-ended counselling therapy, so whether you are looking for support during an immediate crisis, or you are on a longer journey of self-discovery, it would be a privilege to walk beside you.
Imago Couples Therapy.
Imago couples therapy teaches partners how to get the love they want. It encourages couples to move from an I-It relationship, where they objectify or distance themselves from each other, (often blaming the other for how they feel), or treating each other as tools, to an I-Thou relationship, which is genuine and reciprocal in connection, where each person is fully seen and acknowledged by the other. We start very slowly and from a place of positivity so that you can feel comfortable and connected.
I understand that counselling can be daunting, so I offer a totally free 15 minute, initial phone consultation so that you can ask any questions that you would like, and tell me briefly what is bringing you to counselling. I can tell you a little bit about the first session and you can see if you think we are the right fit.
I offer 1 hour, face-to-face (or Zoom) counselling sessions as follows;
Individual sessions are charged at £50 an hour payable in advance
Couples sessions are charged at £70 for 90 minutes payable in advance
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified person-centred counsellor, a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and bound by their ethical framework.
I am a level 5 qualified Cognitive behavioural therapist
I am also a qualified Imago couples therapist
I have a degree in Psychology and Masters degree in Childhood and Youth
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
