About me
Do you feel alone and misunderstood? Do you feel there is no one you can talk to who will keep your confidence and understand how you are feeling? If you make the decision to come and share those feelings with me, I will offer you a safe, confidential and supportive space where you can talk freely and where you will be listened to without judgement. An environment where you can be yourself and where you don't have to pretend that everything is OK. Making the decision to come for a counselling session is the first positive step in improving your mental health.
I accept everyone without blame or labels, with compassion, respect and professionalism. I do hope you come and see me because when we work together exploring your feelings, you can become empowered to bring about changes which will help you manage the way you live your life.
You can either call or email me to arrange an initial session. If you are happy to continue, we will set up a second session and thereafter meet at the same time each week or fortnight for either short term or long term counselling - whichever is required. Sessions cost £40.00 per hour.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor with six years experience, working with clients from all walks of life. My clients have suffered relationship issues, bereavement, anxiety and depression. I have an ABC Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and I am Registered Member of the BACP.
In addition, I can help by offering you a natural, non-judgemental warmth and kindness combined with a strong sense of empathy and understanding of the way you feel.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
