About me

Hello, my name is Rach, and I am an integrative person-centred counsellor.

Life can be challenging, exhausting, and overwhelming, leading to unexpected thoughts and feelings. Taking a step into the unknown can feel daunting, and you may feel a range of emotions as you decide whether counselling is right for you. You might be considering counselling for a particular reason, such as bereavement, anxiety or depression, or perhaps you do not feel quite like yourself and are unsure why. Although life seems to be going well, you may find it harder to recover from setbacks. A passing comment might leave you deeply unsettled, or the thought of leaving home may fill you with dread. Past experiences, thoughts, emotions, and behaviours can significantly influence our present state and contribute to concerns about the future, causing dissatisfaction, heightened anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and diminished self-confidence. These experiences may be compounded by the belief that others will not understand or by a reluctance to burden those around you, which can result in isolation and increased loneliness.

Trained in person-centred counselling, I use an integrative therapeutic approach that combines person-centred principles with cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused techniques to meet each client’s individual needs. I offer a confidential, non-judgmental, empathic space where clients can explore their fears, emotions, and thoughts at their own pace as we take the next steps together on their personal journey.

You are warmly invited to get in touch for a complimentary 15-minute consultation to discuss the challenges you are facing and your expectations around the counselling process.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
