About me
I am a Counselling Psychologist who works with adults and young people across a broad range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety (panic attacks, phobias, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder), trauma and PTSD, grief, stress and burnout, low self-esteem, substance misuse, personality disorders, emotion regulation and relationship difficulties.
I offer a safe, non-judgemental environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, identify their goals and build on their strengths and resources. My approach combines professional expertise, evidence-based therapies and a genuine commitment to helping clients to heal and transform.
I am privileged to work with a diverse group of people from all backgrounds and each at a different stage of recovery. As such, my approach and treatment plans are bespoke and tailored to the requirements of each individual.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Counselling Psychologist chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
I have been practising in private, voluntary and NHS secondary healthcare settings in the UK for the past ten years and am dedicated to providing compassionate and skilful psychological support to help people navigate the inevitable challenges they face in life.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

How I work
Some people prefer the privacy of meeting virtually from their own home or find it too difficult or time-consuming to travel. I therefore offer therapy sessions exclusively online via videoconference (Microsoft Teams, Skype or Zoom).
Before we agree to engage in therapy, I offer an initial 20-minute telephone consultation at no charge. We will discuss what has been troubling you and the sort of help that you might need. If we agree that you might benefit from therapy with me, we will then meet for an in-depth, 75-minute assessment online via videoconference during which we will discuss your current presentation and symptoms, your background and history and the proposed course of treatment. I will then follow up with a detailed written assessment report.
Thereafter, we will meet via videoconference at weekly or fortnightly intervals.
CONFIDENTIALITY
What we discuss in therapy is confidential. The only exception is if I feel that there is an imminent risk either to your own safety or that of others. Additionally, all psychologists are required to have regular supervision of their clinical work. The discussions that I have in supervision are confidential and I would not use your name or any other identifiable personal information.
