About me
Whether you’re feeling stuck, lost or overwhelmed, things can always get better. Taking the first steps can feel daunting but whatever the problem, it always helps to have a space to talk it through. Sometimes, it can be that things just feel too much; anxiety, stress or overwhelming sadness may be getting in the way of enjoying day to day life. There is so much pressure in today’s society to be a certain way, to compare ourselves to others, to try and live up to other people’s expectations, that this can lead to not feeling good enough, depressed or devalued. I’m a warm, friendly and trustworthy person to have alongside you as we find answers and work out a way to help you feel better. I will bring compassion and company, while providing a confidential, accepting, reliable environment for you on your journey. Regardless of what you are bringing to counselling or how long you have felt this way, I believe that everyone is important and deserves this time.
Training, qualifications & experience
The first and most important thing is building a good working relationship together, where you feel secure to explore thoughts and feelings, and face any challenges. I work as an integrative therapist and draw from the psychodynamic and person centred modalities. I will help you identify unconscious patterns and beliefs and how they affect your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. We will also explore past experiences and relationships and how they may be playing a part today. I offer stability by keeping the work structured, but always allow flexibility within this, as every person and their story is unique. Together, we can work to help you find greater understanding in yourself and in your relationships, so that you feel happier, calmer and more confident in life.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
