Relationship therapist, FdA, MBACP Reg

About me

I am an Integrative Counsellor (BACP-registered) and Relationship Counsellor (Relate trained), offering a warm, supportive, and confidential space to explore emotional and relational difficulties.

I work from a systemic and relational perspective, supporting individuals and couples to explore how past and present relationships, family dynamics, and life experiences influence current patterns of feeling, thinking, and relating. My work is grounded in the belief that understanding our relational experiences (and those of our partners) can support greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and meaningful change.

For individuals, therapy offers space to explore patterns, attachment, and emotional responses. In couples therapy, I support partners to better understand relational dynamics and the wider systems that shape their emotional wellbeing.  I work alongside couples to help strengthen their connection and develop more secure and fulfilling ways of relating.

I have experience supporting clients with a range of concerns, including relationship difficulties, parenting, family dynamics, separation, life transitions, anxiety, self-esteem, and depression. I offer both short and long-term counselling, either in person in Clifton, Bristol, or online, within a non-judgemental and supportive environment.

As an integrative counsellor, I tailor my approach to each client’s needs, drawing on a range of therapeutic models, grounded in a person-centred foundation. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to work alongside you at your own pace.

I offer a free initial consultation to help you decide whether I’m the right therapist for you. Please feel free to get in touch to arrange a fifteen-minute introductory phone call or to ask any questions.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training is in person-centred, relational and systemic therapy. I am fully committed to an on-going programme of professional development in order that I keep developing my skills. Following a number of years of training and gaining agency experience, I was awarded a distinction for my Degree in Integrative Counselling with the University of Plymouth. I also have a Post-Qualifying Certificate in Relationship Therapy, which enables me to work with couples as well as individuals with a relational focus.

My qualifications enable me to work with a variety of therapeutic approaches, including, humanistic, integrative, psychodynamic, attachment, relational, systemic, transactional analysis, creative therapy and mindfulness.

I have worked in a number of counselling roles and specific areas of client work have included peri-natal mental health, parenting, life transitions, menopause, anxiety and depression, and loss.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their code of ethics. I receive regular supervision in line with their requirements.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
