About me
When life leaves us feeling and behaving as if we are not our "best selves", then it might be time to consider therapy. These feelings and behaviours may be caused by everyday life events or major traumas, but whatever the cause, therapy can help.
Anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, sadness, isolation, overthinking and a sense of being overwhelmed are just some of the feelings that can occur at any point in our lives. Work, relationships, trauma, loss and life in general can affect our wellbeing, making it harder to deal with the day-to-day challenges that life can bring. Therapy can provide us with space and time to allow us to understand and work on the reasons for these feelings. Working face to face or online, I offer a supportive place for growth, change, self-discovery and resilience to develop.
Working with young adults and children, I provide a safe and confidential space for them to talk about their concerns, helping them identify alternative ways of thinking and coping mechanisms as well as longer-term resilience. Working creatively with children allows them to use the tools they need to express themselves when words just aren’t enough, letting them know they are truly understood.
I believe that therapy is not only for those times when we feel less than able, but is useful at all times of our lives. My approach is that therapy is not an off-the-shelf solution, but a personal experience that allows the time to facilitate growth, resilience, change and develop coping strategies. Please see my website for full details of how I work.
Finding the right counsellor for you is the key to successful therapy, so I offer a free 30-minute telephone consultation prior to any therapy.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
