About me

As  an Integrative Psychotherapist I combine different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit the needs of my clients. I work with children, adults and couples. In this day and age, 1 in 4 people will go through some kind of emotional or psychological difficulties throughout their lives. Rest assured you are not alone if that is how you have been feeling.

Together we can explore feelings, emotions and thoughts which are often related to individual past and present experiences. We can interpret what is happening and explore your experiences by looking at emotions and thought processes, in order to understand and reflect on what is happening. We can then empower you and find ways to manage and deal with these issues.

I will be here to offer you my undivided attention, empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence to help you raise your self-awareness and equip you with the right tools that best suit your individual needs.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN YOUR INITIAL SESSION

In the first session, I will be carrying out a short assessment to get a better understanding of you and your concerns.

Sessions will last 50 minutes and are carried out within the boundaries set by BACP ( British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)  Our sessions are strictly confidential and non-judgemental. By understanding yourself and circumstances better you will gain a greater insight of yourself and those around you. This insight will enable you to find different strategies to deal with your concerns and have an impact on your relationship not only with others but also with yourself.

As an integrative psychotherapist, I believe that every individual is unique and have a different outlook on life. Consequently, the skills and techniques I use are tailored to individual needs and circumstances.

The issues that can be covered in therapy are endless. It includes a relationship with self and others, self-esteem, depression, obsessions, anxiety/panic disorders, addictions, psycho-sexual problems and bereavement to name a few. We will be able to deal with these topics in your sessions by applying the processes and the techniques I have explained briefly above.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
