About me

I am an existential psychotherapist with over seventeen years of experience working with adults from a wide range of backgrounds. I support people who are struggling with anxiety, trauma, low mood, loss, health-related fears, relationship difficulties, and periods of significant change or uncertainty in their lives.

My work is grounded in the belief that therapy is not about diagnosing or fixing what is “wrong,” but about creating a safe, thoughtful space in which you can begin to understand yourself and your experiences more fully. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how they reached the place they are in. Together, we take time to explore what life feels like for you, at your pace and in your own words.

As an existential therapist, I focus on your lived experience as a whole - how past events, relationships, beliefs, and current pressures shape the way you see yourself and the world. Through careful conversation, we can begin to uncover the patterns, assumptions, and emotional responses that may be contributing to distress. Bringing these into awareness often allows new perspectives to emerge and creates space for greater choice and self-compassion.

I have particular experience working with trauma and its longer-term effects, including health anxiety and fears that can re-emerge following illness or major life events. I also work with people who have had therapy before and are looking for a deeper or different way of understanding what they are struggling with.

I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy, depending on your needs. Sessions are confidential, collaborative, and tailored to you rather than following a fixed programme. My aim is to provide a calm, respectful, and supportive relationship in which you can speak openly and feel genuinely heard.

I practise in North London and welcome clients from across the city. If you are unsure whether therapy is right for you, an initial session can offer a chance to explore that together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over seventeen years of experience working as a psychotherapist with adults from a wide range of backgrounds. A significant focus of my work has been supporting people who have experienced trauma, including the longer-term emotional and psychological effects that can follow illness, loss, difficult relationships, or overwhelming life events.

I trained initially in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling, completing a Postgraduate Diploma, before going on to specialise in Existential Psychotherapy, in which I hold an Advanced Diploma. This training allows me to work flexibly and thoughtfully, adapting my approach to the individual rather than applying a fixed model or set of techniques.

For five years, I worked within a community-based therapy service, where I supported people presenting with trauma, anxiety, depression, and complex life difficulties. For the past twelve years, I have worked in private practice, continuing to develop my trauma-informed work with clients seeking both short-term support and longer-term, open-ended therapy.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with its ethical framework and professional standards. I am committed to ongoing professional development and engage in regular clinical supervision to ensure my work remains careful, reflective, and responsive to clients’ needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Sessions last fifty minutes and are usually held once a week. More frequent sessions can be arranged if you feel this would be helpful.
