About me
Hi, and welcome.
We all go through difficult periods in our lives. Sometimes for easily identifiable reasons - bereavement, loss, heartbreak, employment stress, family or relationship difficulties, trauma. But sometimes things don't feel right and we don't know why. Perhaps you wake up with a feeling of dread. Perhaps you feel empty, going through the motions of a life that no longer feels like the one you wanted. Talking to friends or family can feel too much, either from a sense of shame or a fear of being a burden. It's easy to become trapped in lonely isolation and feel helpless to effect change.
Choosing a counsellor, coming to therapy for the first time, and voicing things you may not have talked about with another person before, can all be daunting. I never lose sight of that. But I also see regularly in my clients the relief, the lightening of the load that can come from talking to a trusted, skilled professional; someone who has no other agenda in your life, who can help you explore difficult feelings without judgement, formulate and articulate your thoughts, reframe your view and approach to parts of your life, and begin to work towards change and a more fulfilling experience of the world.
How I work
I am a qualified, experienced, trauma-informed counsellor offering one-to-one therapy sessions to adults, face-to-face in Chiswick (London W4) and Ealing (W5) and online via Zoom. I offer short and long-term counselling depending on client needs.
I work in an integrative, person-centred way. This means that I assess and treat each client as an individual, shaped by their own unique set of past experiences and present circumstances. I draw on a range of therapeutic theories and techniques to best suit the person sitting facing me.
Who I work with
Working in West London and in higher education, I am used to counselling people from a broad cross-section of demographics, nationalities and walks of life. I work in an inclusive way while always remaining mindful of differences and how that may impact our relationship and our work.
I don’t specialise in particular issues. But outside of my private practice, I work a lot in higher education, so I enjoy working with young adults. And my background is in the film industry, so I've also worked a lot with arts professionals and organisations, as I understand the particular pressures and challenges facing performers, artists and creatives.
What to expect
Whether you are suffering from anxiety, stress, depression, low mood, low self-esteem or are dealing with trauma or the legacy of it, there is no need to suffer in silence. Whoever you are and whatever issues you are experiencing, I will meet you with warmth, compassion, empathy and understanding. You will be listened to and valued. I will facilitate a safe, confidential, non-judgmental space for you to bring whatever is troubling you. Working together, we can explore whatever is going on for you, and work towards a greater understanding of why you feel stuck and how to move forward from it.
Please get in touch via the email link above and we can arrange a free 20-minute phone or Zoom consultation so we can both get a feel for each other and decide whether I am the right therapist for you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
