About us
Hello, I'm Katy, a qualified counsellor offering a warm, supportive space for people experiencing a wide range of challenges. While I welcome clients with many different concerns, I have a particular interest in working with
- Neurodivergence ADHD & Autism (diagnosed & undiagnosed).
- Childhood Adversity and Trauma
- Relationship difficulties
Neurodivergence; I offer specialised support to individuals feeling misunderstood, exhausted from masking, or struggling with challenges at home, in relationships, or in the workplace.
With lived experience of navigating a world designed to meet neurotypical norms, I recognise the pressures of masking, people-pleasing, and trying to fit in, and I support clients in finding greater self-understanding and self-acceptance, to enable change... regardless of a diagnosis.
Childhood Adversity and Trauma; I also work with those affected by childhood trauma, helping them explore how early experiences and relationships with parents or caregivers may continue to influence self-worth, emotional wellbeing, boundaries, and relationships in adulthood.
I specialise in supporting people affected by difficult childhood experiences, including emotional neglect, criticism, inconsistent caregiving, family conflict, and traumatic events. Together, we can explore how these early relationships may have shaped your self-esteem, emotional wellbeing, relationships, and sense of self in adulthood.
Relationship Difficulties; In addition, I support people experiencing relationship difficulties, whether they find it hard to start or maintain relationships, notice recurring patterns that lead to relationships breaking down, struggle with trust, fear abandonment, feel overwhelmed by closeness, or are navigating the pain of a breakup or separation. This may include exploring attachment patterns, communication challenges, boundaries, and the impact of past experiences on current relationships, helping you to better understand your needs and build healthier, more secure connections in the future.
My aim is to guide you towards better understanding of yourself, your experiences, and the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, while supporting you towards greater self-acceptance, confidence, to enable change.
Counselling offers a safe, confidential space where you can slowly begin to understand what you’re feeling, feel truly heard without judgement, and start reconnecting with a sense of stability, self-worth, and emotional safety at your own pace.
At Person Centred Pathways, I believe that meaningful change often begins within a trusting and respectful therapeutic relationship, where people feel heard, valued and emotionally safe.
I work in an integrative and flexible way, responding to each person as an individual rather than following a set approach. Sessions may involve reflection, gentle curiosity, emotional exploration, grounding practices, and practical ways of noticing and responding differently to familiar patterns. Clients are always supported to stay in control of what they share and the direction the work takes.
My approach is primarily person-centred and informed by attachment theory. This means I hold in mind how early relationships can continue to influence patterns of relating, coping and self-belief in the present. Together, we explore these patterns with care and curiosity, supporting deeper self-understanding, emotional awareness and greater choice.
My practice offers a calm, confidential and supportive online space where adults can take time to explore what is happening in their inner world, in their relationships, and in their lives. Clients often come to counselling feeling overwhelmed, stuck, uncertain, or carrying experiences that feel difficult to make sense of alone. My role is to walk alongside you with care, curiosity and respect, helping you feel heard and understood.
I work primarily from a person-centred approach, informed by attachment theory, with strong emphasis on the quality of the therapeutic relationship. I believe that feeling emotionally safe, accepted and genuinely listened to creates the conditions for growth, healing and meaningful change. Sessions are collaborative and paced according to your needs, allowing space for reflection, emotional processing and increased self-awareness.
I work integratively and respond to each client as an individual rather than applying a fixed model. Where helpful, sessions may include gentle exploration of relational patterns, grounding techniques, and practical ways of noticing and responding differently to familiar thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
I place great value on the therapeutic relationship and on creating a space where clients feel genuinely heard, understood and emotionally held. I believe that change often begins through feeling accepted and met with care and respect.
I work integratively and thoughtfully, responding to each client as an individual rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. I have experience supporting adults with a range of concerns, including anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, childhood trauma, life transitions and emotional overwhelm. I also have experience working with neurodiversity and supporting clients to gently explore patterns shaped by early relationships.
I am committed to ongoing reflection, professional development and working in line with the BACP Ethical Framework. Sessions are offered online in a confidential and supportive online setting.
I also offer single, one-off counselling sessions for those who want emotional support without committing to ongoing therapy. These standalone sessions provide a safe, compassionate space to talk through what’s happening for you right now — whether you need a focused check-in, clarity around a specific concern, or guidance on your next steps. Ideal for anyone seeking short-term support, signposting, or a moment to pause and reflect, these sessions are designed to meet you exactly where you are with care and professionalism. No ongoing commitment required
Sometimes it is easier to talk things through in a safe, non-judgemental therapeutic environment with an experienced counsellor, than to a partner, relative or friend because often, they might not be able to help, understand or hear what is on your mind.
It may be that you do not wish to burden or hurt them, or it may not be possible to be open and honest with them about your feelings. During therapy, together, we can find your own answers or solutions and find the happiness you deserve.

Member organisations *
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
