Penny Simmonite (BA Hons) MBACP Registered - Psychotherapeutic Counsellor
Taking that first step in seeking out professional support may seem daunting, and yet you may feel more positive and lighter just from making that initial contact to find support. I am a warm, interested and accepting psychotherapist and offer a safe, confidential space for you to talk about your individual concerns and experiences, without fear of judgement.
I use a range of different therapeutic approaches to tailor my work to suit your individual needs. We will work together on what you would like to be different in your life, to be more content both now and in the future.
My belief is that the therapeutic relationship that is created between us will allow you to gain more insight and self-awareness, leading to a better understanding of both yourself and your relationships.
I offer both long and short-term counselling on a weekly basis in Surbiton, Guildford, Farnham and Godalming, Surrey.
Training, qualifications & experience
In addition to my private practice, I have several years' experience of working in an NHS GP practice and workplace counselling service offering psychotherapy support to a wide range of adults and older adults.
I am a fully trained and qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor with a First Class BA (Hons) degree in Integrative-Relational Counselling from Middlesex University and am a registered member of the BACP. I adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and my work is supervised by a senior practitioner.
Prior to my counselling career, I worked for a number of large FTSE 100 companies with the healthcare sector and in 2000 I obtained a BA (Hons) degree in Business Management (2:1) from Leeds Beckett University.
