About me
I offer a safe, confidential space to explore conscious and unconscious processes linked to the emotional difficulties and predicaments you may be facing.
About me
I am a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist registered with UKCP. I have over 25 years experience in the public sector and have worked therapeutically with children and adults of all ages and diverse backgrounds. Over the past 20 years, I have developed a specialism in working with those impacted by adoption, early trauma, and loss, and am the clinical lead at a national adoption support agency. Prior to this, I worked in the fields of alcohol and drug misuse and family assessment and support. I offer clinical supervision, as well as individual psychotherapy.
In private practice, I work with those aged 18 and over.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

What to Expect
We would arrange to have an initial consultation, which is 50 minutes long. We can think about what is bringing you to therapy and whether psychoanalytic psychotherapy and the way I work is something that might be helpful to you at this time. If not, then I may be able to suggest other options. We may need to meet more than once before deciding to continue with ongoing sessions. Sessions would be at least once a week on a regular day and time.
I can also offer you a brief conversation on the telephone first, before you commit to the initial consultation.
My approach
I use a psychodynamic/psychoanalytic approach, which explores how childhood experiences and early relationships shape the way we relate to others as adults. It looks at both conscious thoughts and unconscious patterns that influence our feelings and behaviour. In therapy, we will aim to work together to bring these hidden influences into awareness, understand how they affect you, and ease inner conflicts that may be causing distress.
This process can sometimes feel challenging, but we will move at a pace that feels right for you. I aim to provide a safe and confidential space where you can explore your inner world, gain insight, and work towards meaningful and lasting change.
The location
I offer sessions in person in London N19. Less than five minutes walk from Upper Holloway overground station and about 5 minutes walk from Archway tube station. Buses from Highgate, Muswell Hill, Crouch End, Finsbury Park, and Tufnell Park stop nearby. Bicycle rack available. There is limited pay-and-display parking outside.
The therapy rooms are comfortable and spacious, and are in a large house with a discreet entrance. There are a number of other therapists working in the same building. There are steps from the street to the main door, and therapy rooms are over 3 floors. There is no wheelchair access at this time, but please let me know if you prefer to be on the ground floor.
I also offer sessions remotely via Zoom.
