About me

Hi my name is Pauline and I am a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist (full member of BSCH) and Counsellor (registered member of BACP) specialising in Addictions and the issues related to the addiction and the probable cause.

It is very important for the success of any counselling therapy that good rapport is gained between client and therapist.   Statistics show that without this there is less likelihood that the therapy will be successful.  The right Counsellor will allow us to open up completely about issues that we have been bottling up inside us for whatever reason.  We want to be able to talk freely and easily without being judged by that comment or look that straight away makes us close up and squash those unwanted feelings and thoughts back down into their box again because, maybe, we feel ashamed and guilty.   We want the issue to be dealt with in a non judgemental manner.   We want that someone who will enable us to feel that we are OK.  That it's not all our fault and will help us find a solution.

I have worked for the past 13 years in substance misuse, am a qualified Hypnotherapist and have completed two years of a MSc in Addiction Psychology and Counselling.   In addition to this I have volunteered for two years as an Addiction Counsellor in two substance misuse services in London and have been working in private practice since 2003 as a Clinical Hypnotherapist. I use an Integrative approach as I do not believe one size fits all.  I prefer to personalise my approach accordingly to the individual needs of each client at that time.

If you are suffering from anxiety, depression, stress, low self esteem, low confidence, panic attacks, relationship problems, feelings of Shame and Guilt for past behaviours, feeling stuck or overwhelmed, control issues, perfectionism, lack of connection or belonging, loneliness, isolation, panic attacks, anger etc.  and in trying to deal with these issues have found yourself addicted to a substance or behaviour, then please contact me and we can start on finding the solution that you need.  I believe that we are all simply people that sometimes just need a little sympathetic, empathetic and compassionate support.
