About me
I believe therapy works best when you can genuinely be yourself. I’m a friendly, open-minded and easy-going therapist, but I’m also honest and willing to have the more difficult conversations when they can help you move forward.
I see myself as something of a blank canvas in the therapy room. I want you to be able to bring yourself to our sessions openly and honestly - to paint the picture of who you are, what you have experienced and how you see the world, so that I can understand you as deeply and genuinely as possible. I don’t want you to feel that you have to present yourself in a certain way or fit into a particular idea of what therapy should look like.
My approach is rooted in person-centred therapy, alongside psychodynamic thinking. I move between the two depending on what you need. Sometimes the most important thing is having space to talk, feel heard and understood. At other times, it can be helpful to look beneath what is happening in the present and explore experiences, relationships or patterns from the past that may be influencing how you feel today.
I’m very much an engaged therapist. I don't believe my role is simply to sit quietly and listen while you do all the work. I use reflection, analogy and honest conversation to help you look at things from different perspectives. Where it feels right, I will challenge you - but I won't push you somewhere you're not ready to go. Sometimes that challenge might be gentle; sometimes it may involve having a conversation that is difficult but important.
For me, authenticity matters. I bring my own personality into the room while maintaining the professionalism and boundaries that therapy requires. I want you to experience me as a genuine person who is emotionally present and invested in understanding you. I believe that when you feel comfortable enough to be yourself, without fear of judgement, you can begin to use therapy in a much deeper and more meaningful way.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have over a decade of experience working predominantly with adolescents and young people, particularly those aged 11–18. During this time I have supported young people through a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, trauma, social difficulties, academic and school pressure, and other issues affecting their emotional wellbeing.
Working with young people has given me extensive experience of understanding the person behind what might initially be presented as a behaviour, a difficulty at school or a particular problem. I enjoy taking the time to understand what is really going on for someone rather than making assumptions about what they need.
Although young people have been a significant part of my career, I also work with adults and am keen to support people at all stages of life. I have experience working with vulnerable and homeless adults, addiction and adult trauma, alongside approximately two years of more focused adult therapeutic work.
Ultimately, I don't believe there is a particular type of person who has to come to therapy with me. You don't need to have everything figured out before you start, and you don't need to know exactly what you want to achieve. You simply need to be willing, when you're ready, to explore yourself honestly.
I bring openness, curiosity, warmth and a willingness to engage fully with you. My aim is to create a space where you can feel understood, find some peace, and gradually make sense of whatever has brought you to therapy.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
