About me
Hello, my names Trish and welcome to my profile.
Life can sometimes feel hard to bare and at times we come across challenges in our lives that are hard to face on our own. As a person centred counsellor, my aim is to help you to explore and work through these difficulties and help guide you to navigate ways to better recognise the thoughts and feelings you are experiencing. By working together we can try to help you find ways in which you may start to move forward towards a happier and more fulfilling way to live your life.
Many of us cope by holding onto our feelings for fear of being judged by others. We may find it too hard to share the deep rooted thoughts and feelings we may be experiencing so instead we sit with them on our own. We may feel apprehensive about seeking therapy and speaking to a stranger about our thoughts and feelings for fear of not feeling accepted or understood. I offer an empathic, non-judgmental, confidential, safe space to help you feel valued, heard, understood and respected unconditionally throughout your counselling experience/journey.
By working collaboratively with you we will be able to explore what's troubling you and work towards implementing change in order for you to be able to move forward in a more positive way. .
Sometimes you may seek therapy for things that are going on in the present and at times you may want to explore things from the past that are deep rooted and difficult to talk about. Acknowledging these difficult events is the first step to exploring them and peeling back the layers from the past in order to be able to move forward more positively in the future.
I have experience working with a range of issues including Anxiety, Abuse, Trauma, Loss, Relationships, Self esteem grief, Cancer, addiction
I appreciate that reaching out and looking for support can be a difficult step to take and sharing what’s going on for you with a stranger can feel overwhelming. I am also aware that the relationship between therapist and client must be a comfortable one where trust and rapport can be built. I am happy to offer a free-of-charge 20 minute initial first consultation via online or telephone. This will give us a chance to discuss what your needs are and what I can offer you if we decide to work together.

I have experience working with Adults, Children, Older adults and Young people with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, relationship problems and specialise in working with those suffering with cancer and also their family members in need of support during difficult times.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
