About me
I'm Paola, a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I have experience in working with individuals and families affected by bereavement and grief, cancer, and other physical health conditions. I also have experience and an interest in supporting people affected by mental health difficulties such as low mood, anxiety, stress and life adjustments across the lifespan.
I understand that if you are struggling with your psychological wellbeing it can feel difficult or daunting to reach out for support. My approach values us working together to understanding what may be happening and in thinking about what is important to you. I value working collaboratively, with transparency and compassion. I believe that working together to gain greater self-understanding and have a space to reflect on your values can be helpful in making meaningful change.
As a Clinical Psychologist, I am trained in a variety of models and approaches and typically work with an integrated approach. This means that I use skills and knowledge from across my training to best support you. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Systemic Therapy.
Finding the therapist that is right for you is important, I offer a 10 minute initial consultation to discuss further and whether I might be the right support for you.

- Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (D.Clin.Psy) – University of Southampton.
- Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (PGCert) – University of Southampton.
- M.Sc. Forensic Psychology – University of Portsmouth.
- B.Sc. (Hons) Psychology – University of Exeter.
I am registered as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Additional information
Individual therapy:
- £100 per 50 to 60 minute session (for assessment or intervention).
- £150 per 90 minute session (please note that sometimes longer sessions are recommended in line with the evidence-based treatments for some psychological difficulties).
Couples Therapy:
- Couples Therapy Session £150 per 60 minute session
