About me
My qualifications and experience are important, but they are only part of who I am.
Alongside my professional training, I bring my own life experiences of loss, grief, change, motherhood, rebuilding and personal growth.
I know what it feels like to face challenges that leave you questioning who you are and how to move forward.
This is why I believe counselling isn’t about fixing people. I believe it’s about creating a safe, supportive space where people can better understand themselves, process their experiences and reconnect with who they truly are.
Clients often tell me they feel understood, accepted and able to be themselves in our sessions.
At the heart of my work is a simple belief:
You are more than the hardest thing you’ve been through.
Sometimes we simply need support to find our way back to ourselves.
because if this I know that reaching out for therapy isn’t always easy. Maybe you’ve been thinking about it for a while, or maybe something has shifted recently and you know it’s time to talk. Either way, taking this step can feel daunting especially when you’re trying to find someone you can genuinely connect with and trust.
If that’s you, you’re in the right place.
My approach is completely tailored to you.
No two people are the same, so your therapy shouldn’t be either. I use a warm, collaborative style and draw from a range of evidence-based approaches to support your individual needs.
Understanding What Sits Beneath the Surface
One of the things I’ve learned through counselling is that people rarely come to therapy with “just one problem.”
What looks like anxiety on the surface may also involve self-doubt, past experiences, grief, relationship difficulties, overwhelm, pressure, or unmet needs.
There are often layers beneath what we first see.
This understanding has inspired a framework I use in my work called LAYERS a simple approach that helps clients slow down, become curious about their thoughts and feelings, and explore what may really be driving their struggles.
Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, we work together to understand the deeper patterns, emotions and experiences that may be influencing how you feel.
Because lasting change often begins when we understand what sits beneath the surface.
There is always more beneath what we see.
We work together at your pace.
Helping you to feel clearer and more grounded within the first few sessions, though everyone’s journey is unique.
I work intuitively and holistically.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, overwhelm, grief, relationship challenges or life transitions, we can explore what’s going on beneath the surface and find a way forward.
What I can promise you:
Competence, compassion and a genuine commitment to helping you feel more understood, supported and empowered.
I am based in the Swinton/Prestwich area offering face-to-face, but can also offer online & telephone sessions across the UK. Whether we meet in person or online, my aim is to offer a safe, calm and supportive space where you can talk openly, feel understood and move towards the changes you want to make at a pace that feels right for you.
In our work together we’ll explore what happens when you stop just coping and begin living. Whether the challenge is recent or ongoing, you’ll find a respectful, professional space to slow down, speak your truth and be heard.
I work with anxiety, overwhelming stress & burnout, depression, low mood, self-worth & self-harm. Suicidal feelings as well as significant life changes (career transitions, relationship endings, bereavement) relationship & attachment issues as well as perimenopause/menopause.
Regaining control of your life may not be easy but by working together at your own pace I hope to be the person who will not only listen and understand, but provide you with the empathy and space where you feel comfortable dealing with your life experiences. I aim to help you to reach your goals, increase your well-being or help you to focus on your personal growth.
If you’re reading this and it feels like something inside you is saying: “It’s time to stop going it alone” then I invite you to a free 10/15 minute introductory session. We’ll talk about where you are now, what you want from therapy, and whether I’m the right match. Please read some of my testimonials to give you a feel of how my clients have felt working with me.
A GP referral to make an appointment is not necessary and all enquiries are treated with the strictest of confidence. To set up an initial consultation or to discuss any questions or concerns you may have, please contact me.
PS: You don’t have to carry this alone.

Testimonials
I came to counselling because I was struggling to navigate some huge life changes that were happening. What helped me most was speaking to Pamela about my thoughts and feelings, to try and make sense of what was going on in my life. With Pamela's help, I have been able to break things down and take a look at things with a clear perspective. I now feel confident to move forward in life, and make decisions that will benefit me. I also now feel able to put myself first. Pamela's approach was calm, caring and she really offered me a safe space to be honest and open without feeling judged. If you're thinking about therapy you should just go for it! Even though it can feel scary initially, it really is the first step to move forward with whatever it is going on in life.

I came to counselling as I was feeling burnt out at work and I was struggling with my emotions. I felt very up and down and like I had no resilience. Pamela used techniques that helped my body to relax when I was in a state of burnout.
I felt like dedicating time to saying my thoughts aloud with someone so calm and understanding helped me to make sense of them. It relieved a lot of my worries. I now have strategies I can use when I’m struggling which helps me feel less up and down. If you are considering counselling, allow yourself to begin. Having the support of Pamela helped me overcome many personal difficulties and I only wish I had started sooner.

I came to counselling after experiencing panic attacks following a traumatic time with my daughter. Pamela, helped me work through this, to the point I was no longer having panic attacks and could actually talk about the experience, whereas I couldn't before.
What helped me most was being heard, having a safe space to offload, to talk, to deal with my trauma at my own pace and be supported through it. I now feel more in control. I am able to revisit the trauma as and when I need to, which still isn't often, but I do share it to try to help other people who have been through similar. Pamela was calm, empathetic, and gave me confidence in overcoming my trauma. She afforded me the time and space to deal with the situation at my own pace, and I will forever be grateful I would say to someone thinking about counselling, It works! When you find the right counsellor, someone just like Pamela, you can and will overcome the reason for attending. Pamela, Thank you for allowing me to talk about my trauma, whilst supporting me. Giving me coping strategies and the confidence to move on and rebuild.

I have always suffered with panic attacks over the years but during 2024, they became severe enough to affect my day to day life. I took the leap to seek some professional help to allow me to work through past trauma and seek potential new perspectives. I found Pamela on the internet and reached out to book in some time. During our sessions, Pamela would listen to me intently, allowing me the space to speak and provided insight when required. This allowed me to unearth buried thoughts and feelings and deal with them in a safe space. What helped me the most is having someone to push me to challenge my way of thinking. She provided me with breathing techniques which helped me keep my anxiety under control. Since finishing my appointments with Pamela, I have not had a panic attack once. The breathing techniques she taught me plus the counselling has improved my life. I feel more confident in my ability to handle situations which would cause anxiety. Pamela's approach provided me the space to speak on my issues whilst giving me the agency to figure them out myself, with her assistance.

I came to counselling as I needed to understand why I kept struggling with relationships and staying in relationships but it opened up to other areas of life and flowed into uncovering other issues. Just having someone external in my life helped me the most to discuss myself and not feel judged. I always felt safe and appreciated someone who was willing to challenge me. I now feel clearer, understand my behaviours and recognise parts of my life that’s in my control but also out of my control. Pamela’s approach was patient, understanding, pushing barriers and allowing to be yourself in the space. I couldn’t recommend her enough. I would say to someone thinking about counselling, Do it, it’s an MOT for your brain and I swear it will be tough but always got to breakthrough. Thank you Pamela, i've never had anything like this before but you made the whole experience different, I felt safe and listened too.
