About me
Hello, I’m Olivia, a Level 7 qualified therapist working with adults and young people. I offer a warm and accepting space where you can come exactly as you are, whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, caught in unhelpful patterns, uncertain, or wanting to understand yourself and experiences better.
My approach
My approach is integrative and highly individualised. I place importance on understanding you as a whole person- your experiences, strengths, challenges and the meaning you make of them- rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model of therapy.
I draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches where this feels helpful and appropriate for you. This is always done collaboratively, with your consent and involvement and with an emphasis on your autonomy and voice within the therapeutic process. I actively encourage you to share what feels supportive, what doesn’t and what you may need from our work together.
I recognise that each client’s needs are different and may change over time. Some people benefit from a slower, reflective pace, while others prefer a more structured or exploratory approach. Ultimately, I aim to work at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you, prioritising collaboration, trust and emotional safety throughout our work together.
Please note in-person sessions are offered in Lincoln only.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Master’s degree in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Nottingham and have specialist counselling training in working with children and young people. I also have experience supporting adults across a variety of settings.
I have supported clients with a wide range of challenges, including:
- Anxiety and panic
- Depression and low mood
- Self-harm and suicidal thoughts
- Emotional, physical, and sexual abuse
- Low self-esteem
- Sexual and gender identity
- Neurodivergence (particularly individuals with diagnoses or traits of ADHD and Autism)
- Behaviour and emotional regulation
- Relationship challenges (including peer and family issues)
- School avoidance and related educational difficulties
As well as within my role as a therapist, I have supported neurodivergent clients in advisory roles, supporting them in navigating their challenges, building self-acceptance and recognising their strengths and ways of experiencing the world. This experience informs my counselling practice, where I continue to take a neurodiversity-affirming approach and tailor my work to each client’s individual needs.
I also hold a degree in Education and have worked in primary, secondary, further and higher education settings, which further informs my work with children, young people and those navigating educational settings.
I hold an Enhanced DBS check and work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework, maintaining high standards of ethical and professional practice.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
