About me

When you've spent months or years operating in survival mode, your nervous system gets locked on high alert. You might find yourself constantly scanning for what could go wrong, unable to fully switch off, waiting for the other shoe to drop, or feeling a persistent sense of dread even when everything on the surface is fine. This isn't a flaw in your character; it's the physical legacy of chronic stress, anxiety, relational friction, and unresolved experiences.

My practice, ON Psych, is built on a simple truth: therapeutic change isn't about learning superficial coping mechanisms to paint over your distress. It's about building a safe, relational partnership where you don't need to be managed, fixed, or pathologised.

As a qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, I work beyond surface-level symptoms to help your system settle, work out what's going on, digest the past, and safely step back into a life of genuine freedom and authentic connection.

How I Work: No single therapeutic model can capture the full complexity of a human life. My approach is intentionally integrative, combining distinct psychological frameworks to match your unique history, your view of the world, and your immediate needs. As my practice is currently an online space, the therapeutic work is all done from wherever you feel most comfortable:

Person-Centred & Relational: Providing consistent warmth, safety, and unconditional acceptance so your mind and body can safely drop their everyday defences.

Trauma-Informed & Somatic: Incorporating polyvagal nervous system mapping and body-aware interventions to restore real-time regulation to your nervous system.

Psychodynamic & Attachment: Exploring early relational blueprints and internalised expectations to understand how your history remains active in your present.

Cognitive & Creative Interventions: Drawing on Gestalt and CBT techniques to identify active worry loops, manage somatic stress, and build practical daily boundaries.

Whether you're navigating a difficult life transition, living with ADHD fatigue, anxiety, recovering from trauma, or simply seeking to understand the quiet undercurrents of your mind, whatever it may be, this space is designed to meet you exactly where you are.

Please note: I'm qualified and available to work with Children & Young People on-site at local organisations, schools or charities that have a safeguarding lead or team. Currently I'm not offering private appointments for children and young people whilst working online.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Level 6 Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling (awarded with Distinction) and I'm a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). My practice adheres strictly to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

Alongside my core clinical training, I hold specialist qualifications in trauma and counselling children & young people; I'll soon be completing advanced postgraduate master's research in counselling and psychotherapy practice.

Clinical Credentials & Professional Registrations:

  • BACP Registered Member: MBACP (Registered Member 420406)
  • Level 6 Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling: Awarded with Distinction (University of Staffordshire)
  • Advanced CPD Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-I & CCTP-II): Specialist qualification focusing on complex trauma, CPTSD, somatic interventions, and severe autonomic dysregulation (PESI UK) (Current training)
  • Advanced Postgraduate Studies: MA in Counselling & Psychotherapy Practice (Bath Spa University) (September 2026)
  • Specialist CPD: Counselling Children and Young People, Trauma Coaching and Polyvagal Nervous System Mapping.

Experience & Background: My clinical background spans work with individual adults, children & young people, complex trauma presentations, addiction, domestic abuse recovery, and neurodiversity (including ADHD and autistic profiles).

Prior to establishing my private clinical practice, I spent 17 years working in high-value commercial relationship management and operations across Manchester and The North. This extensive background brings a mature, real-world perspective to my practice. I deeply understand the intense pressures, toxic workplace dynamics, and systemic burnout that modern working environments place on the human nervous system.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
