About me
I prioritise a person-centred approach that is non-judgmental and respectful. I want to help clients understand their distress and make some helpful desired changes for themselves if needed. I have several years of experience working within the mental health sector, both within the NHS and in private practice; I am a BABCP Accredited CBT Psychotherapist and currently training as a Counselling Psychologist for Continuous Professional Development (CPD). I offer therapeutic intervention for anxiety, depression, trauma and specific anxiety presentations such as OCD, social anxiety and phobias. I can assess with clients their main concerns/difficulties, and agree on a plan of sessions.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have specialist Postgraduate training and BABCP Accreditation in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and I also use integrative approaches such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I have worked with clients across most ages 6 years to older adults in both NHS settings and private practice, and consider developmental history and lifespan stages thoughtfully with clients in assessment and ongoing sessions. I also have specialist (Masters) knowledge in neurodiversity (autism and ADHD overlapping with mental health) and can adapt sessions according to client needs as well as help clients understand more about their neurodiversity.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
