About me
My name is Nikki, and I am based in the East Riding of Yorkshire, where I offer one‑to‑one therapy sessions from my home practice.
I believe every person carries their own story, and I am here to listen to yours - your experiences, challenges, worries, and the issues that may be causing you anxiety, distress, or pain. I provide a safe, private, non‑judgemental, and supportive space where you can speak openly about what matters most to you. We are all unique, and there is no “one size fits all” approach to therapy. I work with each client as an individual, recognising your personal circumstances and supporting you as you regain clarity, direction, and confidence.
Although I am relatively new to counselling, I bring a wealth of experience from many years working with people across all walks of life through my career as a Nurse and within the wider care sector.
I am qualified to work with both young people and adults, supporting a wide range of concerns including exam stress, daily life pressures, debt, relationship difficulties, domestic violence, addiction, work–life balance, loss, loneliness, eating disorders, and trauma. I also have experience in family law and the fostering system.
My core training is in Person‑Centred Therapy, yet I work with an open and flexible mindset, drawing from different approaches to meet the needs of each client. I am committed to ongoing learning and development. I offer both short‑term and open‑ended therapy, available online, by telephone, or in person.
Alongside my counselling work, I am employed within the Further Education sector and volunteer within my local Village Hall and Parish Council.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
