About me
Hi, I'm Nikita (she/her), an integrative therapist based in Reading with availability to work with individuals aged 16 and over.
How often do you experience spaces where you feel truly listened to without expectations? Feeling heard and accepted enables growth and change. As a therapist, I am here to listen non-judgementally offering support as you navigate life’s ups and downs. Entering into therapy as a way to support yourself can be daunting, being here is the first step.
You might be struggling with overwhelming emotions, low self-esteem or difficulties with relationships. Together, we can work on building a deeper understanding of who you are, your relationship to yourself and others. We’ll look at what’s happening now, what has happened to bring you to this point and what you’d like to be different.
My approach is integrative, this allows me to be flexible and work to meet your individual needs. I draw on person centred and psychodynamic theory, use elements of compassion focused therapy and practice in a trauma-informed way. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is central to effective therapy and use this to explore attachment and patterns of relating.
You’re the expert in your life and my role is to walk alongside you as we work together. I will follow your lead with warmth, compassion and curiosity. I’ll take notice of how difference and social expectations might be impacting you.
If you’d like to see if we’re a good fit for working together, get in touch to arrange a free 20 minute call.
Training, qualifications & experience
My varied personal experiences as a therapy client from a young age inspired me to train to be a counsellor. Prior to this, I worked in a variety of mental health services. This has included support work, facilitation of peer support groups and delivery of psychoeducational courses.
As a counsellor, I have worked with children and adults online and in person experiencing difficulties with depression, anxiety, identity, relationships, work, study, stress and self-esteem.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
