About me
Hello I'm Nikki
Welcome to my profile
With over 16 years of experience as a humanistic gestalt counsellor and psychotherapist, I work in person and online with individuals and couples who are struggling with a range of emotional and relational issues. Whether you’re feeling stuck in an unhappy relationship, overwhelmed by anxiety, or weighed down by low mood, I offer a supportive, non-judgmental space to help you find clarity and regain control.
How I work
I offer a warm, welcoming, caring approach where I will support you with practical tools and strategies together with deep emotional insight. I believe that positive change happens when we feel safe, seen, and supported and when we challenge ourselves to think, feel, and behave in new ways. I will gently encourage you to explore your patterns, understand your emotional responses, and learn new strategies for handling life’s challenges.
We’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, whether you’re looking for short-term support or longer exploration.
Who I work with
Couples - Whether you're struggling with communication, trust, intimacy, or recurring conflict, I help you explore the patterns in your relationship with empathy and clarity.so that you can reconnect and understand each others needs more deeply. My approach is collaborative and non judgemental.
Relationship difficulties – including constant arguments, emotional distance, trust issues, betrayal and affairs.
Anxiety and overwhelm - whether it’s generalised anxiety, social anxiety, or panic attacks. I provide practical tools and emotional insight to calm your nervous system and help you feel more grounded. I help you understand what anxiety is and what happens physically in your body so that you become less fearful of the anxiety itself.
Stress - whether it’s ongoing pressure at work, a difficult relationship, or juggling too many responsibilities without enough support. Left unaddressed, stress can affect our mood, sleep, energy levels, and even our physical health. I help clients recognise how stress shows up in their bodies and minds, and guide them in developing practical tools to manage it.
Depression and low mood – when everything feels heavy or meaningless, I offer a space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface and help you find a sense of hope and purpose again.
Low self esteem and confidence – if you’re constantly doubting yourself or struggling with self-worth, we’ll work together to rebuild your sense of identity and personal power.
Life transitions – including separation, divorce, empty nest, or retirement. These changes can shake your identity and sense of security. I help you navigate these chapters with self-compassion and resilience.
Bereavement and grief - Grief can be overwhelming and unpredictable, often affecting every part of life. Together we will gently explore your feelings and rebuild strength to begin to adjust to life after your loss.
Lets see if we’re a good fit
Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming and it’s important that you feel comfortable and confident in your choice. I offer a free 30-minute consultation so that you can see how I work, we can chat through your therapeutic needs and discuss how I can support you. There’s no pressure or obligation just an opportunity to ask questions and get a feel for whether I’m the right therapist for you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
