About me
Hello, I’m Nikki and I’d like to welcome you to my profile.
For over 18 years I have been helping individuals and couples change the way they respond to difficult emotional and relational challenges. In my experience people come to counselling when they find themselves going round in the same thoughts, the same arguments, the same feelings but nothing they try seems to shift things, or at least not for very long.
For some, it may be that their relationship feels distant or strained. Often conversations go round in circles with no resolution and communication feels impossible. For others, feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, burnout or low self confidence maybe creating problems and making life less enjoyable.
Here’s the good news! I can help you move from feeling emotionally tired from having to manage difficult emotions or relationships to feeling more positive about life, together with greater self awareness and understanding.
I believe that positive change happens when we feel safe, seen, and supported and when we challenge ourselves to think, feel, and behave in new ways. I will gently encourage you to explore your patterns, understand your emotional responses, and learn new strategies for handling life’s challenges to move forward in a way that feels more balanced, hopeful and happy.
I offer in person therapy from my private practice in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire and online to clients worldwide. Much of my professional experience has been gained in the NHS and in the private sector supporting employees globally.
Couples Therapy
I often think of a relationship as a three-legged stool. One leg is emotional intimacy, another is physical intimacy, and the third is commitment. When one of those legs starts to weaken or needs attention, it’s easy to overlook it or hope it will right itself. But over time, the stool becomes unsteady, and without repair, it can eventually give
In your relationship do you find yourselves having the same argument on repeat? Or perhaps it’s that you don’t feel truly heard by your partner while the other feels criticised or misunderstood? It could be that you’re in a pattern of attack/defend and you have no idea how you got to this point and even less idea how to break it.
For some couples trust has been broken by an affair or other betrayal and everything feels uncertain and on edge and the other feels as though nothing can ever repair the damage.Tension, walking on eggshells and feeling like housemates, lack of closeness and intimacy are all things that bring a couple to feel as though they can no longer continue in this way.
I work with couples to help them slow down these patterns, understand what is happening beneath the conflict, and communicate in ways that feel safer and more constructive. This may involve rebuilding trust after betrayal, working through emotional disconnection, or learning how to hear each other without becoming defensive or overwhelmed.
My aim is to help you understand each other more deeply and create a relationship that feels more secure, respectful, and emotionally connected.
Individual Counselling
You might feel anxious, low, or like you’re just not yourself.
Sometimes people come to counselling with a clear reason. Other times it’s more of a general feeling that something isn’t right, like you’re stuck, overwhelmed, or not coping in the way you used to.
Over the years I’ve seen first hand how powerful counselling can be in changing the way we experience our lives. Life doesn’t always go the way we hoped, and while I can’t change what happens to you, I can help you change how you respond to it.
Together, we make sense of what’s going on beneath the surface, so you feel less stuck, less overwhelmed, and more in control of yourself and your choices. When we begin to understand how we’re wired, our patterns, our triggers and our ways of relating we experience a shift in perspective.
How I work
My approach is warm, welcoming and collaborative. We’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, whether you’re looking for short-term support or longer exploration.
Lets see if we’re a good fit
Starting therapy can feel daunting, particularly if you’ve been carrying things on your own for a long time. You don’t need to know exactly what you want to say or where to begin. Often the first step is simply having a conversation and seeing whether the space feels right for you.
You don’t need to arrive with everything neatly explained. Many people begin therapy simply knowing that something doesn’t feel right, and we can work together to gently make sense of it.
I offer a free 30-minute consultation either in person, video or telephone so that you can see how I work, we can chat through your therapeutici needs and discuss how I can support you. There’s no pressure or obligation just an opportunity to ask questions and get a feel for whether I’m the right therapist for you.
If you feel that working together might be helpful, you are very welcome to get in touch.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
