About me
Hi, I’m Nick, a qualified & accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with over 20 years clinical experience in the NHS, and over 10 years working in NHS Talking Therapy services.
I’ve successfully helped hundreds of people using evidence-based methods collaboratively and I take a gentle and kind as well as a warm and friendly approach.
What you might be going through is not uncommon - one in 4 people experience anxiety/depression so you are not alone.
CBT has much evidence to support it being effective in unlocking unhelpful thoughts and patterns of behaviour that can keep people stuck.
Alongside CBT , it may be that techniques from Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) might help. We would always discuss first before deciding a way ahead, but it's worth bearing in mind that these approaches can also bring about positive changes for people.
My work is interesting and I have tended towards helping people with resolve trauma as well as people with high anxiety over health concerns. In addition, I am also skilled in helping people experiencing depression and low self-esteem.
CBT is considered a shorter-term therapy, and is structured around my helping you try to fulfil your goals and we would work together as a team.
My aim is to support and enable you to move more away from the present problems and more towards where you want to be in your life.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am an accredited CBT Therapist with a PG Dip in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from Kings College London.
In over 6 years since qualifying, I’ve worked in a top London NHS Talking Therapies service helping people with a wide range of issues including Depression, Generalized Anxiety, low self-esteem, PTSD, OCD, Health Anxiety and Social Anxiety as well as people with adjustment difficulties, and much more.
Prior to working in Talking Therapies, I worked in a variety of clinical roles helping people with severe and enduring mental health difficulties for around ten years.
I am continuously updating myself by attending various courses and training sessions. I also find that by motivating individuals to help themselves, this brings its own rewards to my continuing professional development.
