About me
Hello, my name is Nicholas Lunt, I am a fully qualified, experienced counsellor and counselling supervisor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) working in private practice. I offer counselling supervision for both student and qualified counsellors, and one 2 one counselling.
As an Integrative counsellor, I draw on a variety of approaches to make the best use of the time and the space.
I believe working with the person in the room is the key rather than working directly with the presenting issue. I tend not to work on specialisms but do have extensive experience of working with adults and young people with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem bereavement and loss.
Deciding to come to counselling takes courage and I completely understand that this may be a big step for you. Difficult times, bereavement, abuse, trauma, and abandonment can lead to depression, anger outbursts, and burn out, self-harm and other issues. Sometimes we do not know what is wrong but we just know something is not right. The process of counselling can help you to find your voice, which may have been lost for a while and when heard again can make you feel stronger, more alive, at one with yourself, and more able to make choices that take you in the direction you want to be going.
I believe that change occurs because of the relationship that is created between client and therapist. Therefore, I encourage you to make a few enquiries before committing to work with anyone. I offer a free telephone or face to face consultation to enable you to communicate your needs and decide if you feel we would be a 'good fit.'
I work from my home office in Widnes and also use therapy rooms in Warrington and St Helens all of which are central and easily accessible and I also offer homes visits within a 10 mile radius of WA8 post code.
I invite you to take the next step, call, text or email me to arrange a time to speak together.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
