About me
***Current availability: Tuesday evening and Wednesday daytime for in-person sessions (additional online availability).***
Does it feel like it's time to talk? Whatever the challenges you have on your mind, I'll provide a reliable and non-judgemental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. We will work together to better understand your difficulties, and to help you work towards more self-awareness, more self-belief, and a greater sense of wellbeing. You’ll have the chance to process difficult feelings, whilst working at the pace that’s right for you.
My approach is psychodynamic, which means we’ll explore what’s on your mind and consider patterns and links to other areas of your life. We’ll aim to shed light on feelings and parts of you that may be less conscious, and often turn to childhood and past experiences to better understand these. Sometimes it can be useful to explore our relationship too as it unfolds in your sessions. And your dreams may also be a useful tool for understanding complex feelings.
If you're curious about beginning therapy, please feel welcome to request an initial phone call with me to find out more and discuss anything you might like. If you would like to proceed, we'll then meet for a one-off consultation to explore your needs in more depth. This is also a chance for you to get to know me and how I work. After this, sessions are 50 minutes and at the same time each week.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). Alongside my private practice, I have also worked in community and NHS psychotherapy. I have experience working with a range of life changes and emotional difficulties, including depression and anxiety.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
