About me
Hello, thank you for taking the time to view my profile. My name is Natalie and I am a qualified Child and Adolescent Psychodynamic Counsellor. I am a registered member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and work with children and young people aged 5–18.
You may be feeling concerned about your child’s emotional wellbeing, or noticing that they are struggling in ways that are difficult to understand. When a child or young person is finding life overwhelming, it can sometimes be hard to know how best to support them.
Counselling offers children and young people a safe and supportive space to explore their feelings, experiences, relationships and behaviours. Being able to talk openly with a trained therapist can help them begin to understand their emotions and make sense of what they may be going through.
In the counselling room I work creatively and in a non-judgemental, empathic way. My aim is to provide a safe and confidential environment where your child can feel heard, understood and supported. I work at your child’s pace and tailor sessions to their individual needs, helping them explore and work through the difficulties they may be experiencing.
Children and young people do not always find it easy to talk about their feelings, so sessions may include creative ways of working such as play, drawing or other activities that help them express themselves safely.
I offer both short-term and longer-term counselling, either in person or online for older children and young people.
I also have experience working alongside parents, schools and other professionals to help provide a supportive and consistent network around the child or young person.
If you would like to find out more or discuss whether therapy may be helpful for your child, you are very welcome to get in touch.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have over fifteen years’ experience working closely with children and young people in therapeutic and care environments, including four years of direct one-to-one therapeutic work in the therapy room. Many of the young people I have supported have experienced early childhood trauma and present with a range of emotional, behavioural and relational difficulties.
I have worked therapeutically with children and adolescents aged 5–18, supporting young people experiencing difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, self-harm, identity struggles, attachment difficulties, sexualised behaviours, aggression, and challenges within family and peer relationships.
I am committed to providing a safe, consistent and thoughtful space where children and young people can have a voice and feel heard and understood. Through building a trusting therapeutic relationship, I work in a confidential, nurturing and empathic way to help children and young people explore and work through difficulties that may be affecting how they feel about themselves and relate to others.
Alongside my qualification as a Child and Adolescent Psychodynamic Counsellor, I have undertaken extensive further training in child and adolescent psychotherapy, including significant supervised clinical practice. I am currently completing the final stage of my Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy training, having already completed the core clinical and theoretical elements of the qualification.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
Please note: After-school appointments are limited and tend to be the first sessions to become fully booked. Daytime appointments are often available, and many schools are happy to support pupils in attending therapy during the school day, recognising the importance of their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
If after-school availability is important for your family, please let me know when you enquire and I will do my best to accommodate your needs.
