About me
You might be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, feeling stuck with behaviours that are unhelpful, struggling with the impact of past experiences, or finding life more difficult than it appears from the outside. You don't need to be in crisis to come to therapy. You may simply want a space where you can understand yourself better, and make sense of what's been happening. Support is here when you're ready.
I'm an online therapist based in Newcastle, supporting adults with a wide range of emotional difficulties and life experiences. I have worked in a range of settings, including GP Surgeries and have had particular experience working with anxiety, trauma, domestic abuse, bereavement, chronic illness and eating distress. I have experience of working with autistic and ADHD clients, and my practice is proudly neuro-affirming.
Please read the testimonials below to see what my clients have to say about working with me:
"Natalie is a supremely talented, kind, respectful, funny and smart therapist.I have never had a therapist as good at picking up what I’m saying or meaning and taking that on board.I think a lot of people tend to hear what they want to hear, but Nat takes care to hear what I’m actually saying. This is life changing for me because I’m autistic and deal with being misunderstood on a daily basis.Therapy is hard, getting better is hard.I personally find laughing to be one of the best remedies for both the difficult and tiring nature of therapy.I think finding that very fine balance between working on the hard stuff while having those lighter moments to sessions has been paramount to the progress I’ve been able to make."
"I felt really held and supported throughout my sessions with Nat, which helped me open up and be honest about my experiences.Because of this we were able to get to work on the things that were most pressing for me, and make the most out of the time we had.Nat shows care and compassion, and has a lovely way of understanding how the elements of my life weave together. We even managed a few laughs along the way, which ended up being its own kind of medicine. After struggling with binge eating and body image issues for many years, I never thought I’d be able to let someone in due to shame and embarrassment. But I can now hold myself with more compassion, and doing this work with Nat was a huge part of that".
"I was instantly put at ease. It’s the first time that someone has just ‘got’ me.There was no judgement, only respect and support.I was given a safe space to explore the challenges I’ve faced in life, discuss negative thoughts openly, whilst also being provided with practical tools that I have used every day since our first meeting. Her wealth of knowledge of counselling practices, as well as her empathy and kindness during each session has been pivotal in helping me feel like me again."
People often tell me they feel comfortable talking with me because I'm warm, approachable and down-to-earth. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be yourself, without worrying about being judged or needing to have all the answers.
Our work together will move at a pace that feels right for you. We can explore what's affecting you at the moment, recognise your strengths, and find ways to help you move towards the life you'd like to live. Along the way, there may even be moments of humour, because therapy can be challenging, but it doesn't have to feel heavy all the time.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
