About me

I am passionate about helping others reach their full potential.

Unprocessed events from the past and present can often leave us feeling anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. This can lead to other ways to try and cope that may only exacerbate our difficulties. I believe that through gaining further skills this can help change our thinking patterns and through processing we can break our defence mechanisms to help improve our ability to cope.

Training, qualifications & experience

As a Lead Counselling Psychologist I have experience working in both in patient and community settings. This has been both privately and as part of the NHS across the last ten years. I specialise in the treatment of Emotional Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Eating Disorders (ED). Alongside this I also have experience working with a wide range of difficulties. These include Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Psychosis, Grief and Addictions.

I am trained in and can offer a wide range of therapies including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
  • Radically Open Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (RO-DBT)
  • Psychodynamic Therapy (PT)
  • Eye movement desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

During our first assessment session we can decide a treatment plan most suited to you and your needs. Weekly, fortnightly and monthly session options are available.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
