About me

Hi I am Natalia, an experienced Cognitive Behavioural Therapist registered with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies. I am also trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Compassion Focused Therapy, ACT, and Somatic Approaches. In addition, I have 11 years of experience working in NHS Psychological Therapies, where I provide one-to-one therapy as well as group sessions.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing upon various psychological approaches that is tailored to meet individuals' needs. I specialise in working with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety disorders, phobias, and trauma.

My passion is work with trauma and traumatised communities, where I use trauma-focused CBT and somatic therapy to help individuals bridge thoughts, feelings, and sensations, so what they believe and what they feel is no longer at war. During the outbreak of war in Ukraine I have assisted the psychologists from The International Centre for Health and Human Rights working with people from affected areas.

As a CBT Therapist, I focus first on gaining a shared understanding of where your current difficulties came from and why they have developed. Once we developed that understanding, together we focus on how we can help you move forward in regaining your quality of life. If you feel that now is the right time to start the journey of healing with me alongside you, my responsibility as a therapist is that I will listen to you and support you to work out the most suitable treatment plan.

Furthermore, I also provide sessions in Polish language and provide support to high performing athletes. Being a triathlete myself I understand pressure and performance related mental challenges. Together we can work on your confidence by addressing root causes of mental barriers and applying helpful techniques.

Further information

I provide the following services:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

CBT is a practical and structured therapy that will help to understand how our thoughts affect our feelings and actions. By learning to recognize unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors, CBT helps to develop healthier ways of thinking, coping, and responding to challenges. CBT is used to help with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, panic, phobias, stress, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Somatic Approaches

An integrative approach to treating the whole human body. It is based on understanding that our experiences, emotions, and stress can be held not only in our thoughts but also in physical sensations and patterns in the body. In somatic therapy, you are invited to notice things like breath, posture, tension, and body movement in order to gain deeper awareness that will help in regulating the nervous system. Somatic approaches are highly effective for trauma symptoms, as these are often experienced very physically in the body.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

MBSR sessions are evidence based approach that helps to manage stress by developing mindfulness skills. The sessions focus on learning how to pay attention to the present moment with openness and without judgment. This might include practices such as breathing awareness, gentle movement, or body-based exercises.
