Accredited MBACP, Supervisor, Mental Health Trainer

About me

Sometimes life becomes difficult and it can be helpful to have the support of someone other than family or friends to listen. Sometimes our problems become so overwhelming that we lose sight of where we are and what we need to get back on track. Sometimes we just can’t understand why we feel the way we do.

I believe that every one of us has the resources and abilities within ourselves to reach our full potential and by discovering and understanding our strengths, our concerns can become a lot clearer to us.

I am an accredited counsellor and supervisor, offering counselling and psychotherapy to individuals in a safe and confidential environment. I work with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress, and behavioural challenges. I have particular experience supporting people who struggle with workplace stress, family relationship difficulties, interpersonal relationship concerns and those at a challenging place in their lives.

As a qualified supervisor, I work with qualified counsellors, counsellors in training, and those working within wellbeing and caring roles in the helping professions.

In addition to my counselling and supervisory work, I work in Public Health in a behaviour change role. I support individuals and organizations in making positive changes towards a healthier lifestyle, encompassing both physical and psychological wellbeing. On behalf of Public Health, I am an accredited trainer for Mental Health First Aid, equipping individuals with the skills to support mental health in their organizations and personal lives.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
