About me
If you’re experiencing work-related anxiety, stress or overwhelm, feeling burnt out, living with a constant feeling of dread about going to work, firstly, you're not alone. The pressures of work and our working environment can deeply affect our mental health, confidence, and self-esteem. We often attach our self-worth to our title, role or to feedback from our line managers. We constantly strive to do better, to achieve more, to be ‘good enough’. Work becomes a large part of our identity and when we experience workplace challenges, it can have a knock-on effect that ripples across every aspect of our lives.
How I can help you
After a 10+ year career as an HR Director, I retained as an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist that specialises in supporting individuals navigating the impact of their work and/or working environment on their mental health, including:
- Anxiety, stress and burnout
- Low mood and depression
- Anticipatory anxiety arising ahead of, or during, disciplinary and redundancy consultations, settlements, performance reviews and 1-2-1’s
- Feelings of shame, anger and loss
- Moving forward from workplace bullying or sexual harassment
- Exploring the impact on your relationships outside of work
- Rediscovering your self-worth, confidence and sense of identity
- Establishing healthy boundaries and relationships at work and in life
- I have also worked with individuals in the NHS and in blue light roles experiencing the added complexity of traumatic events and experiences in the workplace and can support you in this area too
My background in HR has given me a deep appreciation of the impact experiences in the workplace can have on us, no matter which role you fulfil, level you have reached or industry you work in.
My approach
In my practice, I welcome you as you are. There is no need to find an ‘acceptable’ language or way of being as you share your story.
Working collaboratively, we will explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and experiences, through honest conversation, compassionate enquiry, and gentle challenge, enabling you to reflect, gain insight, develop self-awareness and walk towards the life you wish to lead, using the courage and resilience that brought you here.
I offer this online across the UK, in person in Chobham, Surrey and for those that prefer the therapeutic environment offered by nature, I offer walk and talk therapy in Chobham and Chertsey, Surrey.
Support for Young People
Alongside private practice I work for a charity as a counsellor supporting young persons that have been the victims of bullying and crime, working with those aged 16 +. I also offer this within my private practice and if you are looking for a counsellor for yourself or a member of your family, please do get in touch. If you are under 18, the initial introductory call will need to be attended by a parent or guardian.
About me
As a young adult I experienced generalised anxiety disorder and my thinking, decisions, relationships, and early working life were shaped by my own mental health struggles. Seeking support through therapy, helped.
After a 28-year corporate career, the past 10+ of which were served as in an HR role, I bring a unique, affirming perspective and understanding of career and workplace challenges to the therapy room. During the last 5 years of my career, I retrained as an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist on an accredited BACP course to enable me to support you in navigating these difficulties.
My training was relational which means I place our therapeutic relationship at the heart of our work. It blended the theories of psychodynamic psychotherapy which helps us explore the impact of our past on our present; person centred and humanistic approaches which at their core, hold the belief, that you are the expert in your own life and can achieve your full potential, however that looks to you.
I am member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and you can therefore trust in the professionalism and confidentiality of our work together.
Next Steps
I understand the process of finding a therapist can be overwhelming in itself and you are therefore welcome to meet me in person, over video or on the phone, for a free, no obligation, 20 minute introductory chat in which you can ask any questions you may have about therapy or how I work.
You are welcome to email or text me, or use the Book Intro Call button. I look forward to meeting you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
