About me

I am a qualified integrative psychotherapist, CBT therapist working towards accreditation, and an EFT couples therapist. I offer therapy in both English and Polish.

My integrative approach draws on elements from humanistic, cognitive-behavioural (CBT), and psychodynamic therapies, allowing me to tailor the therapeutic process to each client’s unique needs. The values underpinning the humanistic approach-empathy, respect, authenticity, and the belief in the inherent worth of every person-are particularly close to my heart. I strongly believe that being truly seen, heard, and accepted as you are can bring about profound change.

My aim in therapy is to create a warm and supportive space where you feel safe to explore difficult experiences. I place great importance on helping clients connect with their emotions and values, and supporting them in finding the strength and motivation to move toward their goals. I offer a non-judgmental, compassionate, and secure environment.

Having lived abroad for many years and worked with diverse clients in a range of settings, I understand the challenges of the emigration process and its impact on personal identity and relationships. In my therapeutic work, I focus on uncovering and strengthening clients' inner resources and capacities for growth.

Training, qualifications & experience

I gained my clinical experience in various mental health organisations across England. I completed a one-year clinical placement with the Polish Psychologists' Association in Cambridge, where I worked with Polish clients living in the UK. I also undertook a one-year clinical placement at Cogwheel Counselling, a mental health organisation in Cambridge, as part of my postgraduate studies, where I practised short-term psychodynamic therapy.

Additionally, I completed a CBT clinical placement, practising the cognitive-behavioural approach both within the same organisation and in my private practice.

While working at JHD Counselling in Cambridge, I gained experience in short-term work, primarily with young adults (aged 18–25), including University of Cambridge students and expats.

In my private practice, I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy in Polish and English.

My personal experience of living abroad for many years, combined with my clinical work in diverse settings, has given me a deep understanding of the emigration process and its impact on identity, relationships, and emotional well-being.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

My practice is supported by regular individual and group supervision. I adhere to the ethical codes of both the BACP and BABCP.

I have engaged in, and continue to participate in, long-term personal therapy across various therapeutic approaches, which has deepened my self-awareness and supported my ongoing personal and professional development.

My main areas of interest in therapy include relationships and the impact of the immigration process-an experience that, according to research, can significantly affect mental health, contributing to challenges such as depression, anxiety, social phobia, and feelings of alienation. I am also deeply interested in the existential dimension of therapy and the grief process, particularly as they relate to migration and the loss of familiar identity, culture, and connection.
