Therapeutic Counsellor

About me

Life can be tough, and often we keep going until the weight of it all becomes impossible to ignore. That’s when the impact on both mind and body can feel overwhelming. You may feel as though you’re moving through life on autopilot; disconnected, exhausted, or uncertain of who you are beneath the pressure. Perhaps you’re struggling with unexplained pain, intense emotions, or a sense of being lost without understanding why.

You might find yourself wondering, “Why can’t anyone see that I’m struggling?” while comparing yourself to others who appear to have everything together. Part of you may want to withdraw and hide, while another part longs deeply to feel seen, understood, and accepted. Past experiences or trauma may still shape the way you see yourself and the world, leaving you carrying stories that no longer feel like your own.

I offer a warm, compassionate space where you can slow down, breathe, and feel truly heard. Together, we can gently explore the layers of your story at a pace that feels safe and right for you. With empathy, curiosity, and deep respect for your experiences, I will support you in making sense of what you’ve been carrying, while encouraging meaningful growth and self-understanding. Our work together can help you move toward greater healing, emotional freedom, and a more compassionate connection with yourself.

I bring experience and knowledge to our work together; however, I know your reasons for seeking counselling are unique to your story, not items on a checklist, shaped by everything you've carried and everything you're reaching towards.

Taking that first step toward change can feel daunting, but you’ve already begun simply by being here. You’re on the first rung of the ladder, seeking support and opening yourself to new possibilities.

I believe finding the right therapist is like baking a cake; it’s about having the right ingredients and the right mix.

Trauma

My passion for trauma therapy comes from witnessing how past experiences can quietly shape the way people move through the world, often leaving them feeling disconnected, unsafe, or even trapped in physical pain. I’ve been deeply moved by the courage it takes to face these invisible wounds, and I want clients to know they don’t have to carry them alone. Over time, I’ve seen how even the smallest steps toward healing can open doors to resilience, freedom, and self-discovery. While trauma work is a special focus for me, it is woven into, not separate from, the broader support I offer.

Therapy

Therapy is a collaborative process, shaped around your unique needs and experiences. For some, it may mean exploring past hurts or trauma, hidden parts of the self, or the pressures that come from relationships, family, or society. For others, it may involve uncovering patterns like masking or people-pleasing, and understanding what lies beneath them. While the process can feel challenging at times, having the right support makes navigating emotions and choices much more manageable. Ultimately, therapy offers the opportunity for healing, growth, and transformation, helping you cultivate resilience, strengthen relationships, and move toward a life with greater peace, joy, and self-acceptance.

I wish you well in your search. If you feel drawn to connect, I would be honoured to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing, peace, and self-acceptance.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
